Anyone else picking up the releases from Vinegar Syndrome?
Their Drive-in range of dvds seems to have taken over the territory that Something Weird had staked out a few years back, with double bills of smut, psychos and low budget oddness. Their Blu-ray/dvd combos seem to be covering neglected obscurities that they are giving insane levels of love to, with top notch restorations & great new artwork for covers.
Picked up Massage Parlor Murders a month or so ago & had a blast watching it. A ridiculous plot, an ace car chase, an insane ending out of nowhere & in the background, period footage of NYC shops, movie theatre marquees & street life that had me drooling into my lap. An exploitation fans wet dream.
Haven't picked up Telephone Conversation yet, but the trailer for that on their site looks off the wall enough to get my interest & features a great opening line that is begging to be sampled. After that they are releasing Punk Vacation, & has me straight from the off by being an exploitation film about punks.
