There is this all Italian films night here. If you people want to recommend some movies out of these? I'm not familiar with giallo's or any other vintage Italian flicks, but I would like very much to get into them, as I am interested in the soundtracks so much.

Any classics I GOT to see? I am seeing Eye In the Labyrinth as the soundtrack by Nicolosi is so good. I'm excited.

event https://kavi.fi/fi/elokuvasarja/uskomaton-italia it's all in finnish though. So if you are stopping by in Helsinki this autumn/christmas there is a chance some of these are playing. My friend who ordered soundtrack reissues from Italy helped in getting these films together.

I wish I could man, but this isn't my forte. I've only seen three of these myself. One (or more) of our other Brothers is surely qualified to lend an opinion.

That sounds a brilliant event to attend. I wish Helsinki was in the Netherlands :-)

My picks for an Italian viewing would be:

- Hanno cambiato faccia (Corrado Farina, 1971)
- any movie by Duccio Tessari: a favorite giallo: La morte risale a ieri sera (1970) and Una farfalla con le ali insanguinate (1971)
- every giallo with a score by Bruno Nicolai :-): example: La coda dello scorpione (1971), Perché quelle strane gocce di sangue sul corpo di Jennifer? (1972) and Tutti i colori del buio (1972)
- a personal favorite: La casa dalle finestre che ridono (Pupi Avate, 1976)
- Solamente nero (Antonio Bido, 1978)

There are a lot of great movies. The above are all giallo (expect the first one, that is more a horror). But you also have a lot of good spaghetti westerns and crime movies (Poliziotteschi). Next year I will try to watch a lot of the latter. This year it is all about the former. If you want Italian western recommendations, let me know.

Also, here you can find a list with giallo movies from the 60s up to 1979. You can filter on director or composer:

Ok @Mateo maybe you know more about other stuff that is your forte! Thanks anyway!

Thanks @Bez - for the recommendations. That una farfalla un sequin.... I have heard (really) good things about. Also right about the Tutti colori del buio. Shop film clerk said it was one of the best. Soundtrack is top too.

Too bad nothing plays that you recommended here in Helsinki, i gotta go check out that film store about those. I have a soundsystem to boot at home, may be nice checking out those.

Nice to see other Europeans also in here.
