I need to watch more JCVD.

Did anyone see the movie called JCVD? It is fantastic. At least in my memory.

Pete- I'm pretty sure that wag Mateo is playing with you, he's all too familiar with the entire JCVD ouvre. Has a wing of Casa Sanboval dedicated to his works.

Also very sure that kicks to the face are 100% his kinda thing!

I wish we could get the original directors cut of Hard Target. It's one of my favorite JCVD films but it's quite obvious that Woo was unable to make what he intended.

Is it a great idea to watch all five DH films in one day?

I have no idea... but that's what I'm doing (punk).

I’ve been slowly going through his catalogue revisiting his classics. So far Lionheart and Death Warrant are at the top of my list.

Are you sure? I guess my poor attempt of being witty failed 😅

I love Dirty Harry
He's more of a .44-to-the-face rather than kicks kinda guy.

Fun fact: Sudden Impact was written as a Sandra Locke vehicle before Eastwood got his grubby mitts on it and turned it into DH4. He also took home a whopping 60% of the film's profits for a paycheck. That's not a typo; he made more than the studio on that film.

(probably changes every few years upon certain revisits)

1. Time Cop
2. Hard Target
3. Blood Sport
4. Universal Soldier
5. Lionheart

6. Death Warrant
7. Double Impact
8. Cyborg
9. JCVD
10. Kickboxer

Pretty sexy stuff, sir. You should probably get one of the good UniSols in there somewhere though.

Do you not count the first one as good? I have that at 4. The only other one I really like is Day of Reckoning w/ Scott Adkins.

First one is fine. Five and six are great. They are legitimately two of the best action movies of the 2000's.

That’s what Sundays are for, I fully approve any and all marathon attempts. Give me a rainy Sunday and a franchise to binge any time, and this is a good call if there ever was one.

I’m rewatching a History of Violence for the first time in a while.

Need to pick this score up, maybe mondo has plans for it state side, looks like they are going to keep up with their shore/cronenberg collab, his sinister stuff is always great, but his romantic themes in this are just gorgeous

I was lukewarm on it when it came out, but I was young and stupid. Now in my advancing dotage every time I watch it I admire it more and more. From an evolution of Cronenberg as a director tackling more straightforward less surreal filmmaking to Viggo showing his truly unsettling range as an actor it really is such a great movie
