This was the worst giallo I have ever seen. And that is saying something...

Two episodes in - I'm loving it. it's Ridley doing Ridley. May well depend on how down one is with the last couple of more 'esoteric' Al*en films (I liked them both, esp. Prometheus).

Trailer looked great for this. Hoping I like it. I did enjoy Prometheus, not Covenant so much.

Well I'm two I'm two episodes deep on Raised by Wolves and absolutely loving it. Looks fantastic, acting is great and the story is compelling. Probably the best thing from Scott since Prometheus.

A great film @bez, I see you're not done with classic 70s/80s downbeat crime flicks

This was pure insanity. 30% in a good way. 30% in a bad way. 40% in the insane way.

Bez you are on a roll! Haven't heard of these before.

I have been rewatching Casino Royale. Forgot how good it is. I have only seen a fraction of all of the bond movies, but this has to be one of the best. The parkour chase scene in the beginning is wild. And the entire gas tanker sequence.

Ben you should consider doing a coffee table book with all of these title screens. Pure Gialli Pr*n!

I would love a coffee table book with all these title screens. There are some real gems in there. My phone doesn't take the best of pictures so the images I post are not the best. It is great to see how movie making changed year by year.

At this moment I have seen 108 gialli from a list of 230 titles that Troy Howarth considers to be true gialli. Earliest title is from 1963 and final from 2013. Unfortunately I cannot find every title. But 200 out of 230 should be doable.
There are some bad movies in there :-) But also some real treats.

Of the titles that I have seen recently I can recommend In the Folds of the Flesh. That is not a good movie. It is truly insane. It is the type of movie you have to see to believe it.

Fulci's Murder-rock I liked. Very eighties :-) And well made.

^ @ScoJo : that is really cool. Brings back memories :-)

Just finished this one. All I can say that one only needs the score. No need to watch the movie :-)

@bez, Murderrock is so much better than it has any right to be. I expected it to be just bad but I had a blast watching it and the score was super fun. If I'm remembering correctly I had ordered the score with in the first 15 minutes of the film. Just hopped on discogs and found a cheap copy.

I watched a lot over the weekend, I've been working 6-7 days a week for the last few months and I decided to take Sunday-Tuesday off, my wife joined me in this and we watched lots of movies and TV. It was nice to catch up on some of the back log.

Mr. Vampire is such a fun film. I haven't seen it in almost a decade and the last time was a really poorly put together DVD with awful subs. Eureka just released a bluray of it and it's wonderful. New translation, fresh scan of the negative. It looks excellent. It was a first time watch for my wife and she had a blast watching it. She thought the concept of hopping vampires was hysterical.

Sloooooooow burn haunting. And it's pretty damn great. Well written characters and great acting. This one was a surprise, watched it on Shudder.

A classic. I haven't watched this in probably 15 years. I picked up the new 4K UHD and it's an impressive disc. While the image is good (has a touch too much DNR applied) the Atmos soundtrack is spectacular. The CG bits didn't age well but they never will. I've always loved the film, it's slow plodding pace with small bits of graphic violence. The scene where she destroys her body to open the hatch is still as striking as it was years ago. Another first time watch for my wife and she was blown away by it. At $17 I highly recommend picking this one up for those that have 4K setups, especially if you have a surround system.

Caught up on Lovecraft Country. This show has no idea what it wants to be. It's like it's trying to be a different genre every week. For those that have read the book, is it like that too? I'm enjoying it but it's all over the place. I love that Michael K Williams is in it but so far he hasn't really been given much to work with, he's just a cranky old man.

Speaking of Michael K Williams I started watching The Wire again. Still fantastic.

I'll have a long ass anime update soon too but I have two more shows to finish before I write that up.
