(LOVE the variation of the Howard Blake theme during the extended section as she searches for him - surely the audio of this has to exist out there somewhere??)

Can‘t see an image/what you are referring to, Scojo. Maybe it‘s just me?

It showed up for me correctly in your original post @scojo so it is at least working to some extent. And I agree the embedding youtube is a pain. It usually takes like 3-5 attempts for it to work when I do it.

Really great stuff, and has English subtitles embedded. It’s got the exact right amount you want from 70s of the boys giving full medicine to young German freaks in Cathedrals, classic soundtrack shenanigans, but then also quite a good deal of the most godawful shite you ever heard ;)

Very excited to have been able to pick up the new UHD of City of the Living Dead with this awesome Gates of Hell slip cover.

Transfer overall looks fantastic. The intro is still rough though, there were lots of complaints about Arrows Blu from a few years ago being too grainy. It's just the source material. The intro here is grainy, better resolved than the Blu but there's kind of a weird anomaly with the credit text which has a shimmering grain structure. Minor complaint but it stood out to me immediately

nice one @Inksb! rewatched that one April 1st this year with the Italian language track. Not sure if I watched the 4K version or not.
I wanted to continue watching the Gates of Hell trilogy but I got stuck in horror from 1980 and cannibal movies... Soon I'll revisit The Beyond and The House by the Cemetery.

After a truly lovely vacation with sun, see, and lot's of French saucisse et fromage but without movies I am happy to watch some new and old stuff starting somewhere this week.
And I am going to build my first home media server somewhere in the next coming weeks! Until now I am using a usb-hub with 5 external HDDs attached serving movies to my mediaplayer. I could buy a NAS but what is the fun in that if you can build one your self?

I've contemplated building my own media server a few times. Let me know how it goes.

Nice! I was able to download Friedkin Uncut (2018) but still need to watch it. I assume that one is other people talking about Friedkin and the audiobook you posted is Friedkin talking about other people?

It’s Friedkin’s autobiography, read by the man himself :)

Friedkin Uncut is also good, a one hour interview overview of his career. He really enjoys his coffee!

Friedkin must have been in the air over the last few days. I watched To Live And Die In LA this weekend. What a great film

SOLE SURVIVORS (2001, Steve Carpenter)

I sought out the R-rated ‘Killer Cut’ of this very late 90s/early oughts flick from one of the director’s of The Kindred. Very much of it’s time, I didn’t hate it (like everyone else if the imdb ratings/reviews are representative). Kindof an update of Carnival of Souls? Dunno, I like that kind of ‘what is going on here’ horror experience and enjoyed my time with it.

SOLE SURVIVOR (1983, Thom Eberhardt)

Which lead me to a bluray upgrade and rewatch of this favourite! If you don’t know, it’s the film which is very obviously the precursor/template for both Final Destination and It Follows. Love it.

SLAM DANCE (1987, Wayne Wang)

A swerve into neo noir, and another blu upgrade. Beautiful looking film with great Mitchell Froom score, obvs low budget but it has… ‘something’. On this watch I def think Hulce is actually the weakest part for me - his acting choices and mannerisms got on my nerves and felt very forced. But hey- Virginia Madsen at her prime. Shut the fuck up!

THE WOMAN CHASER (1999, Robinson Devor)

Blast from the past! Someone mentioned this online today, i havent thought about it in twenty years! Love this Willeford adaptation, great black n white noir ‘parody’. Didn’t even know who Warburton was back then. Queueing it up now, let’s see if it holds up.

Sticking with dreamlike mystery/horror this weekend. Felt like a rewatch of this underrated fantastical urban monster flick directed by Robert (The Hitcher) Harmon. It’s nicely shot in Scope as you’d expect, his last feature before he focussed almost exclusively on the ‘Jessie Stone’ cable movie series with Tom Selleck. Laura Regan is a very attractive and winning lead, surprised not to have seen more of her. Has one of the most shockingly bleak endings I can recall from a noughties horror film.
