Finally watched this classic. I read some mixed reviews about this one and was prepared of it not being very good. I love the giallo genre but have not seen that many giallo films. I love the Argento ones, especially The Bird With The Crystal Plumage and Tenebre. I prefer suspense and setting to as much killing as possible. For me A Bay of Blood is a movie you need to watch if you love horror films and grew up watching Friday the 13th and other slasher films. A Bay of Blood has influenced so many people and films that came after it. The killing scene in Friday the 13th that Waxwork re-imagined on the label of their latest Friday the 13th Part II score came directly from A Bay of Blood.
As a giallo movie it didn’t do it for me. I really love seeing movies from the seventies because of the design I see in the houses or the clothes the characters wear. And those lovely little Italian cars
A Bay of Blood just had not enough of the stuff I want and although the killings were pretty well done (for the time) it just wasn’t thrilled nor satisfied.
Thankfully I just found an old thread with a great list Spencer made that fulfils all my needs: http://www.spintheblackestcircles.com/f ... allo-help/
