Dead Mail was an interesting little film. Looks like it was shot on 16mm or something similar, it's dark and grainy. Solid performances, score was pretty good and a weird little plot. I knew nothing about it but saw someone say it felt like Luz which sold me, I personally wouldn't say it was anything like Luz but I guess I can see where they are coming from at a very basic description. It's on Shudder

Just got this in and I can't wait to check out the transfer. They put a cut on here with Fabio's Composers Cut version of the score as well. And there's a DVD of 7 Doors of Death which I've never watched

Sinners. Try and see on the biggest screen possible if you can, I sprang for Imax with a small, well behaved crowd and it was a fantastic experience. I loved the movie, very dearly. It’s going to be a thrill to revisit.

I won't be able to make it to an imax to catch it but I'm hoping to at least see it on the big screen

I haven't had time to watch it yet. I will hopefully this weekend. I don't have a Dolby Vision UHD player yet so I'll only be checking out the HDR10 but that will probably be fairly minimal differences between. I'll update with my thoughts once I have time to sit down and check it out

The Predator: Badlands trailer looks pretty great, I fully trust in Dan Trachtenberg after Prey. And that easter egg/hidden spoiler!! 😲

Agreed, the only thing I didn't care for was the one Predator's design but he's just one of what looks like many

I also saw an animated Predator is coming out too which looks like it could be decent as well

Finished Gregg Araki’s Teenage Apocalypse Trilogy.

Only watched the Doom Generation at the end of the 90s. Love it.
Nowhere was great. Crazy.

I’ve been obsessing over this film for years since I discovered youtube clips of the ace synth soundtrack, but I couldn’t bring myself to watch the horribly cropped shitty VHS version. Terror Vision released a new 4k 2.35:1 scan on bluray and I finally got my hands on it. (I even considered stealing the name ‘Obscure Sighs’ at one point, the moniker that director Brian Tuscano used for the score.)

All my instincts were completely spot on, this is so ridiculously my shit. Uniquely shot and edited 80s surrealistic horror, outsider art, nightmare logic, fantastic score that’s in almost every moment, utterly nonsensical (or… is it?)

Timed my first watch as a bleary, early-hours of the morning experience and it was thrilling. The highly stylized lighting and awful non-sync rerecorded dialogue evoking lurid 70s Italian horror, with acting that can be charitably described as ‘heavy porno vibes’, to sequences that genuinely baffle and beguile, I couldn’t have dug it more.

If you need any other encouragement/warning, think Messiah of Evil, Death Bed, Jodorowsky, Sole Survivor…
I’d also bet decent money on it being one of Panos Cosmatos’ 80s VHS horror touchstones!

I know things have been less healthy for TV on the soundtrack side, but they’ve teased a release of this and I NEED IT BAD.

I picked up the bluray of this last year and it finally shipped from TV with one of my orders a few months back, I have been waiting for a good time to watch it. i think I finally convinced my wife that she would want to watch it as well

Also The Dark Half in 4K.
Looking forward to rewatching these. Especially The Dark Half has been a very long time since I watched it.
