@ScoJo- it was a lot of fun the last time I watched this film was probably 30 years ago on a VHS tape. Didn't realize this was Chuck's 2nd film with the first being Breaker! Breaker! The Bluray transfer was really good and it had a good interview with director Ted Post. Gotta love the kick through the windshield of the car. I finally noticed it on the movie poster reflected in Chuck's aviator sunglasses. Classic!

That shot is phenomenal.

Longlegs dir by Oz Perkins

This was very much my type of movie. I think the promotion overall probably hurt this as they really went hard on the "scariest movie of all time" bullshit but it was a beautifully shot FBI/serial killer film. Nic was great in the role and I loved Maika's performance

Cure dir by Kiyoshi Kurosawa

After watching Kurosowa's Chime a few months back I decided to see if my wife would like Cure. She absolutely loved it, mission accomplished. Actually was the first time I watched the Criterion release, I'm curious if they made the film brighter or if it always was on the bright side for some reason I remember it being a darker film but maybe that's just my foggy memory

So happy that ScoJo pointed me towards Creepy some time ago. Retribution was also very interesting. I still need to watch Pulse and Seance. And rewatch Sweet Home. Charisma also sounds great. Which other movies of Kiyoshi Kurosawa should I watch?

I am waiting to watch Longlegs till I have my surround sound set and sub-woofer installed again. For the coming time I am only watching movies with stereo or mono audio tracks :D

I have been really filling out my KK archive in the last month or so, I now have around thirty movies and TV series that he directed! Not watched them all yet but would definitely recommend The Serpent's Path, Eyes of the Spider and The Loft for sure. Those are all in the 'sinister/crime' category along with Cure/Creepy.

Here is a nice folder of selected work, some in 1080 (I've had to make do with Youtube rips on lots of these for a while so these were very welcomed!)

I'm gearing up to watch Foreboding from 2017.... it's a bit of an epic though - 2hrs 20m!

I noticed Loft between his other movies. I hope and assume it is not a remake of the Belgian movie Loft... That has been remade in the US I believe as well and it sucks!

I've been on a similar journey as well, I downloaded like 8 of his films. I watched Seance which had a lot of good stuff in it but fell a little flat in areas as well. Some of the effects were not good.
I started Charisma but I put it on way too late and dosed off briefly when I woke up I was very lost and need to restart it

Trap dir by M. Night S.

I can wholeheartedly recommend no one waste their time with this one. It isn't particularly bad but it's also so incredibly mediocre that it felt like a wasted 2 hours. I was mostly interested in Hartnett as the lead here but M. Night has him doing such odd choices that it all just feels bad. Also it's edited in such a way that the film crawls by. I paused the movie during what I assumed was the climax of the film to use the bathroom and noticed there was 30 more minutes, it was the climax too they just dragged it out for 30 more minutes

Mission Impossible III dir by JJ Abrams

Still love this film. My wife is now only one film away from being fully caught up on the franchise, I just need to show her the first film. Side note, we started watching Bad Monkey last night which also has Michelle Monaghan in it. I don't know what black magic she's performing these days but she still looks absolutely incredible. Even my wife commented saying she thinks she looks better now than what she did in MI3
