This just arrived. Unfortunately it looks like Universal botched the audio, no original audio and the new Dolby Atmos track pushes the score very far down in the mix and they neutered the low end. I haven't checked it myself but that's the common complaint I see online about the release. The picture is apparently the best the film has ever looked so it's disappointing to hear they fucked up the audio. Either way I'm excited to revisit it in 4K.

This release has a DTS X track and I just now watched the first couple of minutes until the first scene inside with the electronic chess game.
I have to say it sounds terrific. The music in those first minutes sounds very clear and you have the sound of the chopper over your head at points. The chopper drowns out the score a bit when you get close to it and the score get to the front when it goes away.
From those first minutes I have no complaints.
I am watching on a 5.1.2 set.
I am editing this post with this comment on the Blu Ray Forum:
AUDIO: only offers a new 7.1 Atmos mix, which is not terrible in its own right, but is definitely "revisionist" and "modern", emphasizing sound effects over score. Those of us who know this movie inside and out, and who have seen it countless times with all previous "more faithful" mixes (2.0, 4.1, and 5.1) are pretty upset at how different the balance between effects and music sounds. If you are NOT as familiar with all previous releases, or if this is a more "casual" favorite for you, then you probably won't notice much of a problem. But if you're a die-hard fan (like myself), then the new audio can possibly even be categorized as a "deal-breaker".
Minor correction, it is a DTS:X mix. No Dolby anything on this disc.
I am not a die-hard anything so maybe I don't mind. But to be honest I cannot imagine there really are going to be a lot of people who are going to be disappointed with this mix. I am very curious to here the experiences of others.
