Grosse Point Blank is so good.

Any one watching Wandavision? It's interesting but I'm definitely not loving it like a lot of other people are.

I've noticed that a lot of folks have switched up their avatars and a few people who never put one on their account now have ones. Glad to not be looking at that grey circle :)

Me and my girl let a random wheel generator choose our V-tine double bill this eve, from 6 assorted Cusack flicks. It decided on Grosse Pointe Blank and High Fidelity, so a very 90s evening but great fun.

Now: imagine Drew Barrymore as the female lead in both. After deliberation we agreed this would make both films even better

I think those are his best romcoms although I have a soft spot for Better off Dead as I am a sucker for Ski Comedies. It’s definitely a sub genre I’m all about.

If you're a fan of ski comedies have you seen Hot Dog the Movie? That's one I've always wanted to check out but haven't got around to.

Yeah I have a DVD copy of Hot Dog. It’s ok, I gotta say though there’s too many date rape jokes for my liking. Besides all that it still has some fun moments. But it’s still near the bottom of my list. Not sure it’s worth upgrading to a blu ray copy

Grosse pointe blank is one of my old favs, when my sister moved out of house we grew up in there was some words exchanged regarding ownership of some dvds, this was one of the contested titles. I lost lol.

Just watched Tenet for the first time. I thought it was excellent.

I hold you in high regard when it concerns beer, music, movies and other worldly things but I cannot endorse the label 'excellent' for Tenet. 'Great' I can concur.

This is an interesting bit of linguistic hierarchy, preference, and perhaps regionalism. I was using the phrase "excellent" in a conversational way; I also could have used "great" interchaeably there and, in fact, often do. To use the five star ranking system wherein one stars is the worst, three a true middle, and five the best, I'd give Tenet four stars. Or, if you prefer the JCVD scale, it's a Nowhere To Run rather that a Hard Target.

PS - I love how you buttered me up before you stuck me on the spit. Much tastier for all involved.

Good Morning, good Sir (or probably better: Good Night), I maybe have been a tad affected by some JCVD machismo when I posited my previous statement. Also I should have reflected a bit more as I am an avid user of the classification 'excellent'. I agree with the 4 stars as I did find Tenet to be a very entertaining and well made flick. But if my memory serves me right I really disliked the love interest and found the last act a bit too much (as in: what is going on, who is going forward and who is going backward...).

Watched the Quest last night. Not sure if it holds up. I can remember renting it back in the day and loving it. Now I feel like it’s JCVD answer to Mortal Kombat. I’ve always heard the Johnny Cage character was based on Van Damme. Seeing that Van Damme directed it. It seems his thought was rip me off will you, I’ll rip you off. Forgot Roger Moore was in it so that was fun for me. I also thought the music didn’t really fit the movie at times. I got to say I think it’s the weakest of the Tournament fighting themed movies of JCVD. Curious how @bez will rank? By the way I love time cop but it’s been sometime for me. Probably time for a rewatch.

Looking forward to watching it. I believe I first have Street Fighter on my list. Then Sudden Death and the The Quest. I can't remember any of them.

I very highly recommend the new film THE NIGHT, set in LA but made by a crew of Iranian/Americans and shot partially in both Farsi and English. There are nods (both overt and subtle) to The Shining, but it's also a brilliantly controlled surrealistic psychological horror in it's own right. I loved it and look forward to a rewatch soon.

The street fighter OVA redeems the franchise somewhat, a must for any Street fighter fan.

Also, just noticed near the beginning of this clip, Chin Li is quite the audiophile, check out her Valves ;)
