Finally got the family through the first episode of Stranger Things. Even the 12yo made it through and wants to keep watching the show. I really enjoyed it. Felt a bit of Akira influence with the character of the young girl and the DoE. Interested in seeing how the story develops. Thanks again for the heads up.

Finally watching Emilio Miraglia's La dama rossa uccide sette volte aka The Red Queen Kills Seven Times.
I have Bruno Nicolai's score on vinyl. Brilliant and beautiful! The Dagored release is cheap and sounds superb.







edit - this was a great giallo ticking most of the genre boxes. It does not make my top 5, but I recommend this to anyone that hasn't seen a lot of different gialli. It is very accessible. And buy the score!

First time I watched HBTC was on my own, and fairly memorable.
Was about 13 and parents were out for the night. Just as film was getting intense....someone tried to break into our house! Had to call the cops and everything.
Not sure what proportion of my brown trousers was attributable to Mr Fulci that night though ;)

I was recently listening to the soundtrack for Nightmare City on YouTube, and it's some great Cipriani! Also tried to pick up the Cinevox LP in an auction today, but I was crushed by the competition. Would love to see that repressed in the near future. @RedGoblin? ;)

I've never seen Nightmare City so I'd vote for that'n. I'm all Star Trek this weekend. the first two Abrams films last night and Beyond this evening at the cinema.

@ScoJo - Nice, I caught the original theatrical run when I was sixteen, and remembering being really stoked on the film. Awesome to see Evan Campbell's credits. I haven't seen the film in years, and I am slacking on giving the soundtrack another listen. I caught it on youtube a while back, but I should really pick up the wax for that one.

It's indoubtedly a powerful score, as you'd expect in a MM film. But boy, they really over use the main theme! I actually began to find it a bit distracting...but then the whole of that final sequence = oof!
Definitely need to snag dat German vinyl edishun asap ;)
