Now playing on my portable cassette thingy. A Sony YPPY from 1995. And one of the best tapes I have! Love this soundtrack.

@Bezulsqy - that looks slick af. I would have jumped on one of those, but I don't ever remember seeing one back then. I had one of these on my person at all times circa 94-99:

Thanks deaf :-)
I wasn't even aware of it's existence, before I stumbled over this working one. Brings back a lot of memories of my early teens...

Nice players guys. The yellow sports model was probably Sony's most popular Walkman.

This one here was the last model Sony ever produced. I think it was in production until 2010. I was surprised they were made that long.

Yes I was playing the same tape as seen in my previous pictures. It is just that damn good! While I am typing this something else is playing. I just wanted to show my new gear :-)
It is my last piece of gear I am going to buy in the next 12 months. Money needs to go somewhere else. But it is something incredible. One of the best tapedecks ever made. Really.
In 1982 it retailed for 675 pounds in the UK and $1800 in the US. Ridiculously expensive.
If you are into tapedecks click on this link to learn everything about it: https://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=607

@bezulsqy killer tape deck right there.

This Street Force Cassette has been getting "repeated" spins over here. Really like it, so much going on over the whole album.

Halloween III and a slew of the amazing Vco cassettes lined up to soundtrack some DIY.

Two quality releases by Spun Out Of Control. Great sound and presentation. Both will be getting a lot of listens on my Yamaha deck.

Thanks so much @Dollarhyde & @deafmetal... and, tapes aside, good to see all the serious cog spinnin' hardware on display ;)

Gonna be pressing the production button on our next two releases this week hopefully.

In the meantime, for those who missed the 1st sold out batch of Street Force and asked us for a 2nd run, we've pre-orders up on Bandcamp. Eric Lee has gone back and tweaked the artwork for a more VHS-type feel and we have a diff red & black colour split tape. http://www.spunoutofcontrol.bandcamp.com

No soundtracks but maybe something other people here like.
Now playing is Bell Mountain.
I found about this tape through transmissionrecords: http://transmissionrecords.co.uk/shop/b ... -cassette/
“If you’re into synthy soundtracks, somber strings, creepy choirs, and moody instrumentals, give it a listen”!
but bought it from bandcamp: https://bellmountain.bandcamp.com/

The second tape is from Xiu Xiu. It has a little booklet that contains pictures from the plants in their studio. And I love (and have a lot of) plants plus I like Xiu Xiu.
Still for sale here: http://miniaturegarden.org/index.php?/p ... xiu-music/
Quote from Xiu Xiu Bandcamp:
Photo book of the house plants that are in the Xiu Xiu recording studio NURSE.
Cassette of analog minimal techno to play for your plants. OR
to play incredibly loud from your car for any trees, cactus, bushes, vines or grasses you may drive by.
Drugs come from plants
Minimal techno and drugs are made for each other.
Recorded live and in luscious mono.
Included download code w/ bonus track.
The earth could be uninhabitable by 2045.

I don't think this ever had a vinyl release, and that's too bad. I love this score!

Love it!
Oh, man, youse guys! This thread has been an awesome and inspiring catch-up read!

@bezulsqy - That YPPY is tight, playa, but that 9000 is mad tight!
@deaf - I roll with a NIB yellow Sony Sport for all of my portable cassetteing needs courtesy of my better half.
@spun - Thant PM - Kendo Dynamics tape is really, really good, but what is that OCP Prime Directives tape? I've never heard of that. Even Ask Jeeves was no help.
@dollarhyde - That revolving rack top notch nostalgia, mang.
@bpwlogan - That Wolf tape looks grand. Good score.

First night off in some time for me and, thanks to you goons, I'll be organizing and listening my tapes tonight (a long overdue project). Expect a lot of tipsy posts of little to no interest. Hey, it's your own faults.

@Mateo - I really miss that Walkman. I have no idea what happened to it. I think it left me when I bought my first CD burner in '99...

Bring on the tipsy posts.
