I always thought this self titled release or "Skulls" as some have called it was an interesting listin because the band is starting to create some actual song structure at this point. I read somewhere online that they were starting to tour again. I just assumed that Neil and Jennifer had both dropped dead from a massive drug overdose years ago;)
Lol. They split up as a couple which spelled the end of Royal Trux. Jennifer went and did some records as "RTX," Neil continued with some solo stuff and Howling Hex. Good to know they may be playing together again.

ImageNew cassingle from Polypores. Came with a Holiday card featuring the cover art of all things. Not much needs to be said. It's Polypores; it's quality.

End of Transmission, the Reality Check Trilogy spin-off from WoGo. People need to hear this.

The second offering from the Tectorum label. There is some very good stuff on these comps, but also some stuff that's a bit samey. Well worth the $5 though.

A reissue of Hyper Light Drifter by Disasterpiece (he of the fantastic It Follows score) on Bludhoney Records. I have the original, but bought this as a Christmas gift. Now that I've seen the layout, I may keep this one and give the original as a gift. I'm not much of a gamer nor much of a game soundtrack man, but this is loads of fun.

A couple of pickups from the recent Experimedia sale. Spectral Cities by Datahata has loads of cool dubby synth and psychedelic electronic sounds. Medicinal Circuits by Wzrdryav is a mix of ambient synth and field recordings, mostly of rain and water. I haven't had time to listen to all of it yet, but what I've heard, I like.

Nice one, Frozen. There's some gold in those old VCO releases; Abul Mogard, Panabrite/Norm Chambers, Jonathan Fitoussi, etc. I hope they get back to releasing tapes one day.

Latest cassette tape haul picked up over the past month or so & now spinning their cogs at Spun HQ.

Purchased from Data Airlines, Disco Cinematic, Slip, Third Kind Records & Tapes, & Concrete Tapes... guessing most of you will already be familiar with these labels/acts.

Snap @mateo... couldn't resist that little fella myself

Funnily enough have just got back from taking the daughter to a Moomins exhibition in London, featuring some of Tove Jansson's original drawings and re-creation of her studio, island shack etc:

More for kids... and big kids, admittedly. :)

Ah, that's fantastic, Spun. I must confess to being a Moomins neophyte myself. I recall them being on cable over here when I was growing up. We didn't have cable at my family's house so I only saw the show once or twice. My wife remebers it fondly however and I'm hoping will be pleased to hear the music again. It's pretty lovely stuff.

@ max: very nice!

As of yet I do not have any version of Blade Runner on any format... by one is on it's way. Should be here in a couple of days.

Found this little lovely thing in a thrift shop a couple of years ago:

Spun out of control wrote:Cor, that vintage device looks lovely, like a mini dansette for tapes (gonna share that on our Twitter feed if you don't mind).

Never seen anything like that.

How does it sound (still working?)?
That dansette looks really cool.

The National (=Panasonic) is still working. Sounded not too bad actually for such a small device with little speaker. Of course you can use it on your twitter feed. I loved the contrast of the red/yellow Three Sisters tape with that machine.

We're selling them for $10 and includes a barf bag and FREE shipping in the U.S. We also have a few copies of our 'Gli amanti cannibal' VHS audio/visual mixtapes left as well. Please note that these are NTSC format.

Thanks for the support!

I rarely listen to this version, but it's certainly not without its charms and we've been discussing it a bit of late so here I go.
