We're introducing a new set of forum threads designed to discuss/explore/expose lesser known or rare soundtracks on vinyl.

These 'deep cuts' will each have their own thread and threads will be created via a nomination system - with the last person creating an entry nominating the next.

I just posted Deep Cut #1, and I nominate @deathwaltz to post the next deep cut in a few days.

A big wet Crawley bumlick for this idea!

Are we expected to own the record? I'm willing to take part, although my ost collection is probobly limited compared to others on here.

If libraries are to be permitted however, I have plenty to post.

Sounds like the thread will resemble a blog somewhat, but a really good one.

Really hope this idea works. If it does maybe we could organise an ost soundcloud mix/comp thread based on the sane nomination format.

@Dollarhyde, to me I would say you don't need to own the record, but it needs to be available on Vinyl and you need to have a good understanding of the music, why you like it etc. Otherwise it will end up a generic google cut and paste rather than a personal post.

But thats just my view! I agree with Spencer that lets take our time over this. I think the next person should be nominated at the end of the week, say a Sunday, and then that post runs till the next Sunday, this gives people time to put together the post as well as the less frequent visitors to catch the latest deep cut.

the goal is to spread knowledge about lesser known blackest circles - i.e. vinyl records of soundtracks. not soundtracks in general.

This is a record collectors thing, not a soundtrack enthusiast thing (not that there is anything wrong with that).

Agreed with all the above. Rep a hidden gem that you adore but doesn't seem to get any recognition. I'm in, by the way!

Sounds good, totally agree on a slow turn based approach.

If this is not just soundtracks add me to the list. I love them I just don't have the knowledge some of you guys do. I would even pull a rip of a record I have been saving which is awesome and extremely rare.

Just soundtracks on vinyl. But, nothing stopping you from posting a killer record elsewhere in the forums anytime (just don't use the trademarked 'deep cuts' moniker! ;)

I'm in too please, I've got at least a handful that I know typically go unnoticed that I wouldn't mind sharing.
