So, I just read that James Horner is believed to have died in a plane crash today. Details seem sketchy and unconfirmed, but if this is true, it's a sad night indeed...
While he wasn't a favorite of mine, he was unquestionably a master...
His Aliens score is a stone-cold classic.

I've been meaning to watch a beautiful mind again since Nash died. I'll have to make sure this week.
Very sad, i think these Horner scores may have soundtracked my entire life to some degree

He was not one of those I talked about a lot, and I often forgot how many of his scores resonated with me until I would flip through my collection and realize how much Horner I actually owned....Something Wicked is by far my favorite of his...RIP

Very sad day. James Horner was probably my third favorite, right after John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith. He has so many wonderful scores but if I could only keep one I think it would have to be "Legends of the Fall". I hope that we see it and some of his other great scores on vinyl one day.
