The fifth and supposedly final volume is only days away! Very interested to see what's next for the Semi Automatic label.

I just picked it up to round out the collection and paid $50 for it. I couldn't have gone over that.

It's honestly surpassed my expectations for a single compilation let alone ab entire series. The four released thus far are spectacular. Four of the best records I own bar none. Even the folks I know that have been far more in tune with record hounding for far, far longer than myself are more than taken with the releases. Hmm. I think I've just talked myself into another spin...

I've been picking these up since they first started, and each one is amazing. Of all the records I've bought in the last year or so, these have probably spent the most time of all on the actual turntable. Very excited for the next volume, but it's a shame it's going to come to a close. Also a shame these are costing folks so much now since they were so easy to come by upon release. But I'm guessing that price is just going to rise over time.

@goodnightcigarettes - I feel the same on all counts. I think the biggest issue with the rising second hand prices is that they have all been limited to five hundred copies. As their fame grows, so does their scarcity.

These sound like good stuff. Where are you getting them from?

I can see some of them for sale on Discogs.

@orgasmo you might as well pre-order #5 while you're at it! http://www.soundstagedirect.com/various ... ords.shtml

I just ordered vol. 2 for a reasonable price just based on all the praise you guys have given this series. I didn't want to regret it later when the price sky rockets.

Anyone got vol 1 for sale? I picked up the next three from online shops i.e. not second hand but struggling to find volume 1 anywhere.

@jmctodo - thank you for the heads up on bullmoose! I grabbed both and got free shipping, very awesome deal. I had been waiting on 3 & 4 for too long. I was lucky enough to grab 1 & 2 at a local store in Austin when they first came out, even though they unfortunately have some corner dings that really piss me off every time I pull out the albums to listen to.

Has anyone heard at all what the next round of vinyl will be from this record label? Or is it all still a mystery until vol 5 has been released?

[/quote]I asked around a few months back and no one had heard anything yet. I'll be very interested to see even though these will be hard to top.

it is funny that most people are looking for Vol.1 now. really strange since Vol.1 and Vol.2 dropped at the same time.

last Vol.1 on ebay went for more than $120

anyway...great series, what crazy collectors might be behind this series? this takes a lot of devotion...

what i am missing is some little more details on the movies, maybe the original LP covers in the gatefold sleeve?

otherwise a great listen.
