Max, I'm pretty sure the store nearest to me still has this, as I was there on Monday and there were multiple copies left. It's a little on the expensive side - I think it was right around $35. If I remember correctly you're in Italy - which is like another $20(ish) to ship it. Not trying to talk you out of it, and I'm more than willing to help you with this - just want to warn you of the cost.

If you want it, hit me up here or at galaxieluna(AT)yahoo(DOT)com

Sorry Max. It was in my junk folder but I've got it now. I'll stop by the shop this afternoon and will email you back to confirm I got it. I'm going to call them now to have them hold it. :)

Just talked to them and they are holding one for me. I'll email you when I get home later, but you're definitely covered.

I've heard that this is a re-recording? Aleph records appear to be owned by Schifrin's wife, I think.

I got the Morricone "best of" on Vinyl this week (I've a 70s one too but this has different tracks). Has anyone else got this? Only given it one spin so far but it appears to be "re-recordings".

Anyone confirm that?

The Bullitt rsd it's a re-recording of April 2000. I'm not into this kind of "re-rec." stuff but this one sounds amazing, the bass are so deep and warm, it's a perfect audiophile release! ;)

Re-recordings can be a fickle mistress. I agree, Bullitt sounds great. So do the Solaris/Stalker/Mirror re-scores. That said I've heard many that don't sound good enough to make me forget that I wanted the originals instead. Sadly, I've no idea on the Morricone, but I'm interested to learn.

I've given it two full spins now, admittedly whilst doing other things and I'm convinced it's a rescore. The telling thing for me are the sleeve credits. Just omits anything but the original date of release.

I mean, having seen him at the royal Albert hall with another singer it's kinda churlish to say oh it's not the original but it's never quite the same, incredible as it is.

I'll have to do a third and fourth listen
