@evan and @tim after spending a bit of time with the Art9 I can highly recommend it. I really liked the Hana SL it’s replacing, and the AT goes above and beyond. Super detailed and crazy extension without and harshness (on Magnepans MMG’s which are bright all ready) and it tracks like no other cart I’ve ever had.

That is awesome, Static. Brightness would be my big fear with that speaker/needle combo (though your amp and preamp help with that). Kudos.

@static, this is all very good to know. I feel like my Thiel 3.6's share similar traits with your Magies. I'll keep this cartridge in the serious contender list. I just wish it came with threaded holes instead of those tiny nuts. :)

Chris thanks for sharing a little more feedback on it. It is one of several I was considering awhile back when it was getting such great reviews on some of the other forums. I really enjoyed the Hana SL also... very nice and great value.

With the last few months being a bit busy and a lot of records piling up in the living room (a stack 8" high), all three of my bins in the living room full, it was time reorganize and remove some stuff from the record room. I cleared out two cubbies full of comics and extra shit and moved some records into the space I actually bought these for. The top was cleared from stacks of comics and books just stacked on top of each other, it was a complete mess. Happy to feel like I have some space again.

Your setup looks extremely classy/classic and futuristic at the same time :-) Beautiful gear!

Very jealous of that gear. Those look like carbon fiber shelves, are they?
Not a true carbon fiber shelves. It's a vinyl cover made to look like carbon fiber. One of 4 choices with these shelves.

This is it! One day after getting the new audio racks setup a friend gave me 2 IKEA Kallax storage units so the setup had to be reworked. Took me all of last weekend to get it to my liking but here is the final outcome.

Looks great @tim, I don't see too many of those Ikea shelves in a color other than black. They look good.

@ink, thanks. They were free so I couldn't complain. If I had purchased them from IKEA most likely I would have gone with black but they do help brighten the room some.

And I was thinking you always go for black...

Hey all, it's been a while hasn't it? Haven't been on here for ages, glad to see everyone's still about. Just wanted to post that I took a risk and bought an Achromat II by The Funk Firm 3mm for my Rega and it has really blown me away. Static is all but gone from every record and everything sounds more refined and clear. It's been a pleasure revisiting all of my collection. If you get a chance to try one please do.

That's all folks, pip pip.

I've never heard of this mat but I'm definitely interested. I get a ton of static with my rubber mat and if I use my "anti-static" brush to clean stuff off the record I end up with even more static. I'll add this to the "wishlist" and give it a try to see if it helps.

Hey Inksby, I'm normally dubious about this kind of stuff and a possible placebo affect but I can honestly say it's made a huge difference to both the clarity, static pops and crackles. I was using a leather mat before and the static was awful and made the sound a little muddied to my ears compared to this. There's two versions, a 3mm and 5mm (the 3mm is for Rega turntables). I have a Rega so opted for the Achromat II 3mm and its fantastic.

Thanks for the info. It's a little more pricey than I expected buy I'll probably just pick it up to see if it helps my situation.

Good to see you back @Vapor. That Achromat looks very interesting. Might consider it in the future for my second system which is a Technics SL-1800. My B&O turntables don't have a mat but small rubber strips where the record lies on.
