This has been on my want list for a while, a copy for $25 popped up last week and I bought it immediately. It's a little dirty, has some surface noise, a few pops and clicks, hoping a good cleaning will make it better.

I remember the day this album came out I got the mp3 and loved it. Even saw them twice in concert. Bubble gum music but in the best way

I was a bit late to Conor Oberst and Bright Eyes, but I return to this one about as much as 'I'm Wide Awake...'. This is one of my favourite records in recent years.

Crazy, I was completely unaware of that album. I used to be a big fan of Conor's. I really enjoy Wide Awake, Cassadaga & Four Winds EP. I like some of the stuff he did with the Mystic Valley Band too. Some of the new Bright Eyes songs I heard this year were pretty good too.

Hey @inksb, I'm not sure if the intention was always there, but it served as a companion to another album (Ruminations) that was released later, with The Felice Brothers as his backing band. I like the Felices a lot, but the 'band' album never landed with me. It seemed too long (extra 7 songs, I think), and maybe it was just that I'd heard these versions (essentially piano/guitar solo versions) first. Check it out, I hope you like it. It's my favourite thing he's done since the Bright Eyes hiatus.

Thanks for the info. I knew none of that. I used to really like The Felice Brothers too but they lost me around Yonder Is the Clock. I will definitely check out Ruminations.
