Trying to catalog. It's real fun when having to compare matrix numbers for "common" titles 😬

They're "Bumping", it was a dance back in the 70's
:)

@bud, a great Meco selection. I highly recommend checking out his disco release of The Wizard Of Oz

Thanks for the recommendation Tim! I think I may have scooped that one up during of my thrift excursions. I'll need to dig it out.

Steve Moore - Beloved Exile
I'm pretty sure Side B of this album is one of my favorite Moore compositions.

I have been expanding my hip-hop collection on vinyl over the last few weeks. I never really bought a lot for some reason. Unfortunately a lot of the stuff I want is now much higher than it was years ago when I used to just browse through it at the local record store. Now for something like Ghostface's Ironman I'm looking at $40-$50 for a used copy when it used to be $25. Oh well, it's the nature of the hobby.

This here is one of my favorite releases from last year. Benny the Butcher - The Plugs I Met. It's a short 7 song EP with one of those being an intro. Benny is out of Buffalo NY and part of a group called Griselda. They have been one of my favorite hip-hop discoveries over the last two years. There are two other members, Westside Gunn & Conway the Machine. They are a call back to grimey east coast hip hop from the mid 90's, it's incredible stuff. Westside Gunn's vocal styling isn't for every one, he's easily the worst rapper out of the three but has the best ear for beats. Unfortunately for me lots of their albums are super limited pressings and done with Daupe & de Rap Winkel over seas which means for a new record on release day it runs me $50+ but the aftermarket on this stuff is crazy, lots of their records sell for $150-$300. Enough blathering, back to this record. This is a repress which they used super generic art for some reason but also included the instrumentals on side B (always appreciated). You can see a cropped version of the actual album art on the back. This is a hard hitting drug fueled album, lots of tales laced with selling drugs. It's really entertaining stuff if you are into that sort of thing.

Love to see them one day - been a fan since the Sub Pop lp in 93. It was a 'big deal' record in the indie record shop where I was working at the time, along with the Melvins it seemed like there was nothing else like it out there and I immediately gravitated to it.
