Quick equipment question...

Does anyone on this board have experience with either of these? Pros v cons?

I am currently running a VPI HW-19 JR and am looking to upgrade in the sub-$2000 range. I really like the look of the Concept, but have enjoyed the sound of my HW-19.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a shop in the Chicago area with either of these. Would love the opinions of folks here.

Depending on what arm is on your VPI HWR-19jr I would consider neither the Scout or the concept to be a real upgrade.

Both have less than ideal tonearms: the Scout with it's wobbly unipivot and the Concept with it's finicky magnetic bearings.
Unipivots and magnets are methods to design a functioning arm when either the knowledge or technology to design and manufacture a prober gimballed tonearm are absent, and IMHO should be avoided when possible. Some advanced stylus types actually state in the manual that a gimballed tonearm is prefered.
Ever seen a unipivot's "wobble" at the start of a record?

If you have a decent gimballed arm on your current table, it runs at the corect speed and plays without problems I'd just stick with that.
