@texas: thanks for heads-up. you are probably right. it has a certain underwater feel but i am not sure if it was the artists intention...

8 years of latin class destroyed by 8 seconds taking me to use google translate. Ultime Luci means something like 'breaking lights' which would sound more underwater to me.

just imagine something like that and your ears are where they want to be, haha!

another super weird one is this Robert Hall Prosuctions record. tons of extra short jazz cues that sound OK. but then, somewhere on B side you stumble across this 3:20 minutes long psychedelic suspense masterpiece with the title Underwater Trip. the only tune that does absolutely not match the other music. what the hell were they thinking? haha!

milliondollars wrote:great water and underwater themed library from the underrated supercomposer Luciani. side A reminds of old Herrmann or Barry on the adventurous trip, which is great! side B is the one that sounds seriously bubbly and is why you came here. Luciani does not use electronics nor is he experimenting with effects. old school composer stlye with old fashioned orchestration and instruments.

only recently i found out that it is the same record as L'Acqua N.2 on the italian Montecarlo label. Sonimage have licensed all of their music that comes from italian composers. the Sonimage one is fairly easy to come by. the Montecarlo might be tough to track down...

somebody was kind enough to upload the whole record on youtube...

the Kaleidoscope series on the french Orly label is very similar to the french Sonimage labels. they have used italian library and have rebagged and licensed it for the french market. most of the origins of these recordings are known, but some are tricky to find out. it also may be, that they had the access to italian archives and may have used something that has not been published in italy before. at least that's my theory, haha! anyway, these french labels are great because you often have the chance to get a cheaper and great sounding seccond pressing of a tough to find italian original...

Marines is all about seafaring and it is one of those where i can't tell where it comes from. but it certainly sounds like it came from the same session as the one on Sonimage that has been mentioned earlier. again very adventurous music on the Herrmann or Barry tip. the Coraux (corals?) cue sounds underwater enough to be a honorable mention in this thread...

this is another good one on the UK based Bosworth Music. strangely this seems to be Frank Gartner's only record on Bosworth or outside the USA. he has made like 30 other records on the US Sam Fox Productions label and i did not hear none of them, haha!

very weird & funny electronic record. the title is Dramatics Electronic but most titles are about space. it sounds like your first Game Boy from the 90s in some parts. as usual with space themed library, sometimes you can't tell if you float in the outer space or of dive in the ocean. there is only two cues which indicate underwater music (Undersea & Amoebae) but a lot of stuff sounds fishy.

a fun fact that i found out only recenlty in a interview, is that this was actually the first library record that Jonny Trunk came across and has purchased. indirectly this record is responsible for a whole movement...

been through some KPM records. unfortunately i had only three in my collection which carry underwater cues. i think i know of 5 in total but have never heard the other 2.

the first one is Beat Incidentials by Keith Mansfield, the man. there is one cue that is truly amazing, called Teenage Seadiver. the other Teenage cues are really nice, too! especially Teenage Chase is on fire...

Steve Powder wrote:Hey is that Jean sibelius on your cover? Are you from Finland, another Finnish person says hello.
Indeed it is, sir. Indeed it is. I, myself, am unfinnished; I am a United Statesian. Hello to you, Steve Powder. Nice to have you and you keen vision about the place. Chin chin!

last underwater KPM (at least the last that i own) is Electronic Music by Vetter and Farran. side A is on the brighter side but side B is straight suspense underwater tunes. especially Into The Void, Subaquatronic, Sea Of Tranquility and Sea Of Storms sound like they were made for the creepiest subaquatic horror movie. undoftunately i could not find any soundclips for that one...

super moody one composed by Carlo Savina for the italian World label. i don't hear too much romance in these compositions but maybe Savina has another idea of romance, haha!

remember seeing this one in the library forum a while ago. great compositions and two fancy underater cues on there too: Sott'acqua and Acqua Alla Gola. just right for this thread...

I love this one so much. I wish it would get a reissue...

here is a lovely one from the Studio G catalogue. Asher and Harpham are/were common composers in the UK. especially Asher is a popular early 80s electronic music copmoser and he already made a underwater mark on the Electrofx Volume I record (Bruton) that i have posted a while ago in here.

maximum fun library with lots of different styles. the Aquarium cue was undoubtedly made for underwater scenes....

somebody was kind enough to upload the whole recor on youtube.

there are many buried treasures in the Standard Music Library catalogue and i count this one in. thematics on this late 60s record are described as Dramatic- Eerie / Mysterious/ Light / Heavy

the first 9 cues on the A side (Sunken Treasure, Buried Treasure, Mystery Treasure, Treasure Chest, Guarded Treasure and Haunted Treasure,...) are the stuff you are looking for. the whole record sounds great though...

again, somebody was kind enough to share this record on youtube (see below)

another underwater related title from the Standard Music Library catalogue is Encore Electronic by Brian Hodgson and John Lewis. there is one undisputed underwater cue called Caverns Of The Deep. some other cues on this one sound a little suspicious too. besides these, this is one of the best electronic libraries that i know/own...

probably the strangest I Marc 4 album, but that one has really grown on me. the unsuitable title Special Effects does not tell you what you really get: bold warfare drums, easy bossa and odd suspense

i thought my turntable says goodbye when i heard Suspence Subacqueo for the first time. like it was sinking down the ocean with the record on still playing. even till today it is playing tricks on me... the tempo is slightly changing and it has a light psychedelic touch. surely one of the stand out tracks on the album.
