If anyone wants to get Richard Band's autograph
A quick aside on this: I've seen a lot of pictures posted online of his autographed LP sleeves pretty damaged in shipping. It doesn't seem like Mr Band or his minion are particularly adept at packaging records. That certainly isn't to say that every one has arrived rough, just that I've noticed it in many places including eBay auction photos. All that said, I'm still flirting with the notion of taking my chances with an order of Re-Animator and The Beyond signed by Band. What a great double feature!

PS - Looks like the fates have decided for me as Re-Animator is now OOS. Perhaps I'll play it safe and just order Ghost Warrior on CD instead.

Fact not opinion.

Spun out of control wrote:Thanks for resurrecting this dormant thread @deaf - how was the Howarth live experience?

I was thinking after seeing Carpenter and son/godson live this week, how a Howarth show featuring the same or similar tracks would compare...?
I feel a bit spoiled having experienced Carpenter live with the full band cranking out pumped-up versions of all these big themes in a large concert hall. It was a much more intimate experience hearing Howarth perform some synth and electric guitar leads over his sequenced tracks, but it was still quite enjoyable to hear. I felt that Howarth put together interesting suites of multiple tracks per film, similar to how Frizzi does some of his concert suites, and there were quite a few dark and atmospheric passages that you would not hear at the Carpenter gigs. It all seemed to flow together very well.

I think this is all I have autographs of
That Cure For Wellness sleeve just lends itself to those sigs, doesn't it? Lovely.

this is a cool thread!

@deafmetal - I have that TP with the signed Badalamenti thing too. someone at Rhino told me that Badalamenti signed *considerably* less than they were hoping, so that version is rare indeed.

Here are a few cool ones I have. It’s kinda weird to me that some are signed by actors or other crew as opposed to the actual composer, but eh, I still think they’re cool.

Harry Manfridini's is so elegant. And I'm with you Bez, I'm not much of an autograph person. In fact if I had some one sign an LP, it would be on the back so they don't ruin the cover art.

I probably wouldn’t have someone sign on the front of an album today. Some of these I’ve had for years (I bought both Dead records brand new in a Pittsburgh record store as a teenager, and Savini signed them shortly thereafter).

Although, as I’m thinking about it, I guess I have no problem having non-OST records signed on the cover, and I have a good handful of those (although I usually have a second copy in another color that’s unsigned).

I'm with, Inks; love that Manfredini Hancock. It reminds me of a Tsutomu Ōhashi signature on an LP I have that is similarly ornate and purposeful.

have shared this some years ago in here if i remember correctly. this is a signature and dedication from Riccardo Fellini (the director behind the Zoo Folle documentary) on the rear cover saying something like "...in friendship and sympathy...Riccardo" in Rome dated 19-6-74. apparently the seller told me that the small scribble above the word ZOO is the signature of Giuliano Sorgini but i can't confirm that as it looks completely different, than the signature that @deaf has shared. also i would not understand why and for who these two would sign this record but one thing is damn sure: i will never find out, haha!

also, have a copy of Calamo with signature and dedication from Claudio Tallino (the composer behind this record). it is a dedication to a special lady or something. only god knows what the hell was going on in the italian soft porn scene back in the days, haha!

will try to post a pic later and think of other dedications and signatures in my collection...

have noticed two more autographs/dedications during some recent listening...

one is quite funny as the title of the album is Autographed Copy and as a matter of fact, my copy is autographed by one of the band members. it's a nice privately pressed jazz album from Canada with an quite incredible cover version of Grover Washington's Lorean's Dance...

Wasn’t able to get Paul Williams, he shot out of the screening too quick, but Gerritt Graham hung out all night so now I got beef!
