First press mono. A dirty score. Disc is marked up but plays very well, but the back cover has mold which I will have to remediate and isolate. For fifty bucks I had to give it a shot. Decent player, front presents well, I'm sure it's the most affordable copy I'll ever see.

Even better... Solid VG+ all around, first press mono. Screaming deal on it

Whoever sold this lot has excellent taste. This braith is unique with him on sax + stritch and an organ but no bass. It grooves nicely with grant Green on board. '63 stereo, super clean one

The bn80s/classics are really solid!! So much better than the 75th anniversary.

This one's on fire. It hurt the wallet more than the rest but it's true M-, has to be unplayed and not a mark on it. Original mono

One guy got in the door first. He grabbed Grachan Moncur Evolution original (man I was hoping to grab that one!!) and Love Supreme. I left Pharaoh Sanders masterpiece with a VG brown cover because it was $500... But the disc was CLEAN. Ugggg. That one is all time desert island stuff. I wonder if they sold it already.

One of the ones I really wanted. Oddly enough this doesn't have Van Gelder in the runout despite the Liberty label. Probably some kind of transitional pressing before black B labels. I'm still learning about the labels and pressing specifics

Really have come to admire and like Andrew Hill records. He did things totally his own way.

Gary Bartz + the Mizell brothers on Prestige. Jazz funk with spirit, another of the ones I went in specifically to get

Nightcap... This is one bad ass record. Wow!!! I saw Sivuca, Stanley Clarke and Joao Donato on the same record and grabbed it. Dom's Tune is the track of the night.

Put it on the want list!!

@Inksb: That‘s a great Dexter Gordon album, good to hear that the pressing is solid.

@Texas: incredible spins, you‘re really on a roll here. And re Andrew Hill, I‘ve come to appreciate his music immensely, innovative, immersive stuff.

We‘re currently moving house, can‘t wait getting my system up and the records out of the boxes.

Plot twist. guy #1 returned the Moncur. It has one repeating skip early in A1. Otherwise plays VG to VG+ depending on the track. The front slick looks great but edges are gone. Since it was already returned the owner dropped the price, so I wound up getting it for $35.

Coltrane's self titled prestige record, rebranded as "the first trane" with a dumb groovy font and "remastered stereo"

But actually it's van gelder stamped in the runout and plays like mono.

I've never seen a copy of this. Kudos Tex! PS once stood on my foot whilst I was skinning up at a show in Camden. True story.

That's hilarious!! It's sounding lovely. Gratitude to Mr. Jane Ellis whose name is on many of these records including this one. I wonder if they passed.

The dom is still my favorite of all the stuff so far, what a nice surprise.

This was a nice surprise too, a damn clean '63 review copy, deep groove mono, laminated jacket.

Snagged this Infant Eyes for about the same price as the reissues. They wanted way more for one of The Awakening records so left that one for someone else. The vibe on this one is excellent, the reimagining of Wayne Shorter's song takes it to a different place.

the one and only RSD record i got this year and it's jazz! heavy stuff...

so many unheard live recordings surfacing right now. can live without most of them, which does not count for this one.

Really kicking myself for not stopping into the shop last wednesday. I checked out a few Roy Brooks albums and really dig them.

One on 85 for discogs which is stupid expensive. But already stupid expensive, the brooks 3LP was nearly $70 with tax at the shop.

I've had this a little while but have been waiting to open it until the house was empty. And with a 2 month old baby and a 4 Yr old it is never empty!! This record and the SRX pressings need to be cranked up!! And they will give you as much volume as power you can throw at it with zero distortion.

Night in Tunisia was the hardest of the set to get. No one that I got others from wanted to let this one go, the label was out of private stash, but I found a jazz teacher with a test press and a sealed backup to spare. It's the real deal, maybe the best sounding of the bunch. When shorter comes in towards the end of the title track it sounds like he is in the damn house. It's like a magic trick and my gear is lousy. That's through a Behringer mixer/preamp and rokit monitors and a $35 shure needle!!
