Nice recommend inks!, I've had their album Festa Para Um Novo Rei on my want list for years after hearing the track Vidigal comped by Giles P, and Joe Davis way back in 1994 https://www.discogs.com/release/103893- ... -Brazilica (old, but awesome comp)
Vidigal

And now I see Joe Davis runs far out recordings 😅😎.

Acoustic sounds new pressing. They did a good job with this one.

Damn I checked out both of these releases tonight and they sound great. Thanks for the heads up guys. After listening to Festa Para Um Novo Rei I sure hope that gets reissued soon.

That’s one of my go to records this time of year @tex nice one

Found a clean orphan copy of this yesterday, a nice upgrade from the one I had.

This is a killer record. Maybe not jazz? Some of it is jazz, some is James brown style funk, and some of it is tejano. I wish I had more of their stuff but it's hard to find even in Texas. Maybe if I lived farther down south. They came out of Matagorda county, between bay city and corpus Christi and eventually San Antonio where Key-Loc was from.

Another Mizell joint. I think I like gears better but this album still has its moments.

New addition, Informal Jazz with insane lineup. Elmo Hope, Donald Byrd, Hank Mobley, John Coltrane, Paul Chambers and Philly Joe Jones.

First press W 50th housed in second press "Two Tenors" jacket.

This version of Polka Dots and Moonbeams is so nice.

Reuben Wilson - Love Bug

Picked this one up at the recommendation of owner of my local shop. He was not wrong, fits right in with what I dig. I almost grabbed that new Art Blakey set Live in Japan or something along those lines but he had a bunch of copies and only one of these.

Spirale - Spirale

Ordered this from Stranded. Pretty fantastic album. Glad I grabbed it.

That wilson record is super dope. Idris Muhammad lays down a savage groove on this thing. Grant Green was in a groovy place in 69 starting to go funky.

2nd press probably 1959 to 1962.

Sonny for the night cap. Probably the only sax / bass / drum record I've got but Rollins is good enough to keep it interesting.

Any tips to get ballpoint pen off of a cover?

This showed up today after being lost in the USPS's mail forwarding system for 6 months. It's a Christmas miracle.

In other news, more hijinks from chez JM. I left the bonesaw on the runout groove of side 2 of Uncut Gems for 18+ hrs the other night.

You're a madman Jimmy! A Mad MAN!

Natura Morta is easily one of my favorite albums of the year.

Mellow Dream

Pressing seems kinda noisy. Gonna clean it this week and see if it helps. Such a great album

@inksb I really need to give some Ryo Fukui a proper listen.

Not directly credited, but another Mizell sounding production

Seems a few others have said it's a noisy pressing as well but not everyone. It didn't seem noisy all the way through, mostly the first 2-3 minutes.
Ah, ok, that‘s a pity. I have that one and most other Jazz records from WRWTFWW and no issues. Great album in any case.
