Greetings!

Visiting Paris this week and was curious where I can find the best selection of vinyl. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

http://www.baladessonores.com/ this is a little boutique'y shop sells more fancy pants angular haircut stuff, i went not long after RSD and they had a lot of that stuff in some DW stuff and i got the fantastic french release of Maniac frm there, the lovely guy that runs it sorted me out a copy by getting on the phone to the label which he said is based round the corner

Music Fear Satan is really a nice destination (I still haven't tried their new shop).

I'll add these ones :

Born Bad
https://www.facebook.com/Bornbadrecordshop
Rock'n roll, punk, garage, new wave/cold wave/minimal/synth, soundtracks, rocksteady... Great selection.
Nice guys who run a label with the same name.

Souffle Continu
https://www.facebook.com/Bornbadrecordshop
Experimental, psyche, krautrock, noise, prog, folk, cold wave...
A bit pricey but huge, and very specialized, choice.

Bimbo Tower
http://bimbo.tower.free.fr/
Mostly japanese stuff and various experimental/weird thing
A really cool shop with records you won't find anywhere else in Paris.

But I don't recommend these ones :

Crocodisc
Couldn't believe I'd say that one day but too much records. The bins are so full of them, it's nearly impossible to search. Plus, it's really expensive and the sellers are unpleasant.
Too bad, they have some nice records in there, with an enormous amount of soundtracks.

Monster Melodies
http://monstermelodiesparis.blogspot.fr/
Some kind of Parisian legend but I can't spend any money there : the prices are surrealist (they really take advantage of their reputation), it's a huge mess and they're not very nice people.
So...

I couldn't disagree more about crocodisc, I was there a couple of weeks ago, the staff were amazing, very helpful and super-friendly. Yes, it was rather expensive, but all record shops in Paris charge too much. I left with a big stack of OSTs, a few Italian BEAT originals, some quite cheap Varèse Sarabande and plenty of French soundtracks - they even gave me a 30 euro discount at the end.

It must be a trap, be cautious.

(they must hate my face, it happens a lot)
(but I won't try again to verify)
