Away from the most celebrated labels, there's also a lot of interesting new stuff bubbling away elsewhere for early 2015. Perhaps this thread could throw some light on them?

Personally I'm most looking forward to the much-trumpeted John Carpenter LP of totally new material, Orgasmo Sonore's LP of library music on Cineploit, and Giallo Disco's first long player.

Must be plenty other gems on the way...?

I'm just hoping new records won't become more expensive in the new year! The average record cost me $22-25 this year. That's up from my average cost of $18-20 two years ago.

With that said, Twin Peaks is what I am very excited for.

Think that affordable versions alongside premium versions is the way to go... give folks the option of the deluxe or standard simultaneously and you won't hear many complaints...

Also looking forward to hearing the Drokk soundtrack to Ex Machina in 2015

Good thread and comments. I agree that John Carpenter's Lost Themes could be a monster right out of the gate. The preview track has already set the bar pretty high.

I also second the idea of issuing a budget standard edition for releases. I was pleased to see Waxwork is talking about offering standard black vinyl for their upcoming titles.

Carpenter record is really good. Been on heavy rotation at DW Towers the last month or so.

Weirdly it's all about the holocaust's for me, Cannibal Holocaust and Zombie Holocaust. One of my personal holy grails is a vinyl release of Porno Holocaust. Anything on the horizon Spencer?

@Spencer - I definitely wasn't pointing to anyone in particular. I was stating it about the general field of vinyl shops and labels. I bought almost 300 albums this year, and only about 70 of those were soundtracks.

Cassette tapes have jumped too. I was paying $4-6 a tape a year ago, and this year tapes on average jumped $7-10 on average. I truly doubt it's because the cost of goods rose, and is most likely because of the demand. I'm happy to support people making a living selling this great stuff...but I'm just going to have to buy less and support fewer as the prices rise.

Im also a little jaded now after discovering a new shop in town recently, and going there only to find trashed out, water and sun damaged jackets, scratched vinyl and dust on everything for $10 per record, minimum! I asked why so high and was told because vinyl is back in style. Fuck that! I'll just now buy if that's what it comes too, and stick to what I own. Of course, it was also a family run business...they were all black and the store focused heavily on blues and soul music...when I walked in, they looked at me like I was crazy and when I said I was there to actually look through the records they pointed me to where the rock music is. When I said I want doo-wop and soul Jazz, not rock...the assistant went and got the owner who tried to steer me to John Denver and other embarrassingly awful white people music. I was racially profiled!

Yeah definitely! I don't know exactly which titles will be released in 2015 but I know that something's going on (anyway I already know what will be released for the next RSD!!!) ;)

Speaking of all things Cannibal Holocaust, have any of you spotted the availability of the latest Omaggio LP on Cineploit being listed in their web store? http://www.cineploit.com/?page_id=182

Exploit 06 ALAIN LEONARD/ALEX WANK – Omaggio a Riz Ortolani LP 16,-

Looking forward to hearing this one along with the DW/OWS/Mondo slab of meaty wax.

@deafmetal

Looks like a spring release for that one and the Orgasmo Sonore long player. Gives us time to save some pennies...

@maxvelvet

As you're something of an AMS/Cinevox confidant - do we have release dates announced yet for the Django & For a Few Dollars More LPs? Just curious :)

@Spun - Thanks for the info. I could not tell from the Cineploit listing if it meant it was already available to order. Time for some savings would be good. I have a feeling we are going to get hit with the Twin Peaks/Cannibal Holocaust double-whammy before we know it. I find it amusing to list both those titles together.

I think they will drop in a couple of weeks but I don't know exactly when.... I've heard rumours about RSD stuff because I've spoken with an AMS man in a recent record fair, the one and only here who can have more info it's Red Goblin. ;)
