A few new hip-hop records arrived this weekend and I spent this morning spinning them.

Conway the Machine & Trillmatic - Organized Grime
If you're a fan of grimey NY hip hop give thisa listen. It's availble on YT, Bandcamp and streaming services

Denzel Curry - Imperial
Denzel's second studio album and the one I discovered him on. Honestly the first time I listened to it I wasn't sure what to think but I kept coming back to every few months and enjoyed it more and more. I think Taboo is where he really hit his stride and became the artist I love but this is a nice preview of the brilliance that was to come

I don't know where it stands in the catalogue rankings, but I dig it.

I ordered this just a few days ago and it arrived already. It sounds wonderful. Very happy to have one of my favorite ambient albums finally reissued.

Flee Lord & 38 Spesh - Loyalty & Trust
This was released last year, glad there are still copies kicking around. Usually AirVinyl releases disappear pretty quick. Flee Lord has become one of my new favorite rappers over the last month, he released 5 or 6 albums last year and is doing 12 this year (one every month). 38 Spesh handles production on this one.

Boldy James & Sterling Toles - Manager on McNicols

I can't quite speak to this album other than if you are a hip-hop fan you should probably give it a listen. The production is really quite awesome. Boldy has already released one of my favorite hip-hop albums with Alchemist earlier in the year and this one might be right up with it. I had it on while making dinner and missed a lot of the content of the rhymes but the production made me stop a few times and just listen. Made over the course of many years, the story behind this is really awesome. Check it out on bandcamp and read the description on the page https://sector7grecordings.bandcamp.com ... -mcnichols

Boldy James & Alchemist - The Price of Tea In China

This is easily one of my favorite albums of the year. First listen I wasn't really sure what to think of it, I had never heard Boldy, his monotone voice didn't really connect right away. The production from Alc was top notch and get drawing me back week after week. The more I listened the more I warmed up to Boldy's voice, his story telling is excellent, he builds these great narratives through out his songs. It feels real and lived in with out that blown out bigger than life rapper persona we see quite often. Highly recommend checking this one out if you are into hip hop at all.
