@inks Not been spinning all of these but wanted to share some favourites for the genre.

I definitely have been spinning those Osamu records, Horror show works great as a Halloween listen.

Also I recently found out that the og wicked city is different to the TLV release, beyond the omission of the 2 vocal tracks. The instrumental music clocks in 5m shorter on the TLV release and the track lengths are quite different, some longer some shorter. Although I don't think there are any key themes missing from the TLV release, I think it's just repeated phrases dropped maybe?

Great photo and collection, @Dollar. Regarding the Wicked City differences, do you feel they are the same recordings?

@deaf this much I know. It seems the TLV release's instrumental music is the same as a Japan only CD release (not on discogs), which apparently the music for came from Osamu himself. The mastering does sound different, although the TLV does sound good, og is great too.

The timings are wildly different so there is some shuffling of segments etc I need to have a closer listen to really work out the differences.

@bez, it is a really nice composition I like the drawn image on the insert, with all the faces in it. Interestingly this is the fifth and final kindaichi adaptation movie in a series from director kon Ichikawa, and it features those two feet hanging down. whereas the 1st film in the series "the inugamis" features the legs and feet of a dead body sticking up, from a lake.

Most of the Kindachi scores are pretty expensive right?

@inks Sometimes you might get lucky on yahoo Japan. joobachi, which I think you have, can be got cheap. The devil's flute has recently been reissued, and outside of the films there is that "mystery kindaichi band" record that has also been reissued. The hanging at hospital hill is, I think, the trickiest to pick up from the movie scores, and generally I reckon the most expensive. Yuji ohno's inugamis score is easy to find but generally not cheap, maybe between 50-75.

Patlabor 2 - Kenji Kawai

This finally arrived, sounds pretty damn good. I haven't watched the film in a while so going into the score with a mostly blank memory.

It is a gatefold packaging with an obi that prevents you from opening the gatefold. They should have just sized it to slide over the one side instead of both. Also mine split on the top edge while trying to carefully slide it off, it was on there super tight. It didn't need to be a gatefold package but the interior art is pretty nice.

@inks I need to rewatch P2 also. I really like the score, I got the t shirt bundle the t shirt came out great.

I'm now waiting for the 'kids return' Hisaishi/Kitano ost to arrive. I really hope they will release all the hisaishi/Kitano scores to vinyl.
