I'm sure many of us are starting to think about our year end lists. I know they're meaningless, but it's usually a bit of fun. It made me think about widening it out as we reach the end of the decade. What would make your list from the 2010s?

Off the top of my head as a starter:

Geoff Barrow & Ben Salisbury - Ex Machina
Nils Frahm - Victoria
Disasterpeace - It Follows
Le Matos - Turbo Kid
Dan Romer and Benh Zeitlin - Beasts of the Southern Wild

I'll make a list proper, but that's my starting point.

I look forward to seeing everyone's lists. I have such terrible memory that I forget tons of releases but stuff like this generally reminds of them and then I go back to listen again.

I'm not even sure if I can make a consistent list for this year but I'm sure I'll try at some point.

I've been keeping a best-of list for each year since 2005. Aquarius Records used to ask for customers' lists, and they would randomly give a couple of submitters a gift certificate to the store. I never won, and Aquarius is gone, but I still kept up with the practice. Below are ones that I culled from my lists, keeping out anything not a film or tv soundtrack and not anything older than 2010 (no reissues). I did include some scores on CD.

It's a shame that only a few Black Mirror score's were released physically. I really wanted Ryuichi Sakamoto's Smithereens on vinyl.

Agree on the Sakamoto as well.

Best of the 2010s.... pfff... That is a hard one. I think we can skip 2018 as last year was not the best year if my recollection is any good. I'll delve into this in the coming month. Thanks for mentioning all those releases. Great way to give stuff another (and better) listen.

edit - I read this thread wrong... you are taking about new score created in the 2010s. Not any score released in the 2010s. Makes sense of course. Need to make two lists :-)

Although I probably don't have a lot of those new scores. More of an Italian re-issue score type of person.
