I don't see this getting too many spins anymore. Such a great 'early' DWRC release.

It's never really occurred to me how strange it was to cut this at 45rpm and have much more material on the CD that came with it.

Nice spins. Is the expanded Interstellar worth it, @Revolver? I'm thinking of picking it up. Sounds disappointing decision on the sleeve though!

I have had more than my fair share of bad DW pressings, but this is possibly the worst whilst still being playable. I've had two copies, both the same.

If you can get it cheaper, I think it's worth it. I got it for 51 shipped, and that's probably the max it's worth for what you're getting as a whole.

I LOVE the OST, so for me I really wanted the expanded, the pressing itself sounds great. But shoving 2 LP per sleeve in generic non poly lined sleeves no less is kind of insulting.

I haven't listened to my House on the Edge of the park since I got it, I can't remember how bad the pressing is. I've gotten burnt by so many Mondo/DW releases that have just sounded horrendous. God of War, The Fountain are two that stick out because they are phenomenal soundtracks and are nearly unlistenable at points.

Hahahaha. Laugh it up! I'm glad my typo has got the biggest reaction of all my posts! I'll leave it in for future reference.

Thanks for the info @Revolver. I'll look for it coming down on price. I don't have the original 2LP, so it's a bit easier to justify.

House... was a good listen, but seeing my tonearm move up and down that much doesn't make me feel good about playing it.

Eek. Yeah, I'm EXTREMELY judicious about which Mongo/DW titles I can be tempted into these days. And I hope Im dead wrong for anyone who has ordered it, but there's no way I'd risk laying out that hefty dollar for the DW fancy Eyes Wide Shut, what with the amount of delicate/sparse tracks on that OST. Like I say, you roll the dice so I just hope it turns out okay*

(* ie listenable ;-)

Im holding off on EWS too.

Finishing up the second LP this evening. Big thumbs up for this for anyone who was on the fence. Also it has an insert with pretty detailed liner notes, and track by track cue descriptions.

Listening to this now. In what way does your copy sound bad? I don’t have an issue with Mondo/DRWC except maybe a couple of titles. Especially the first Twin Peaks release.

But the sleeves... so hard to get records back into those DWRC sleeves.
Waxwork does this so much better.

I don’t know. I wound up ordered directly from the label.

Hey @bez, it actually sounds OK, but the record is waaaaay warped. I've had two, both the same. I've accepted it's just a bad pressing, but let's just say I've not had many DW pressings in recent years that I'd describe as reasonably flat. Not just DW, I should say, I buy loads of records in disappointed with, it's just that I've bought a lot from the label, so have noticed it more than I do buying random records from various artists/labels.

I didn't realize it was a 3LP set, it's pricey but seems worth it. I'll try to grab a copy post holidays.
