Tuomo Puranen and Timo Kaukolampi - Mister8

Just got this delivered, and I'm quite excited to put it on. I've enjoyed the pulsing, cold electronics that Puranen and Kaukolampi have put out with other releases and soundtracks, such as White Wall, and this one should be no exception. The press release for it made it sound like the musicians were trying to reference '70s/'80s electronics like Suicide, Cabaret Voltaire, and Throbbing Gristle.

Space Amoeba

This just landed late last week. Had time to clean it and give it a spin last night. Sounds pretty good overall. I opted for the eco vinyl to avoid any issues with that split & splatter combo variant.

This great sleeve image and your description intrigue me sufficiently...

It's a nice release -- I enjoyed it. Compared to their previous soundtracks, it's a little more "active" (previous ones had a bit more drone to them). In general, if folks enjoy the scores that have come out of Invada, such as Mansell, Blanck Mass, Barrow/Salisbury, I think they should check out Puranen/Kaukolampi. You can start at https://www.discogs.com/artist/232604-Timo-Kaukolampi to hear samples. I really like Kaukolampi's "Station to Station to Station": samples at https://timokaukolampi.bandcamp.com/.

Ooh nice Static! Fantastic score - must say, watched the film for first time a few weeks ago. Well.... say I watched it but I only really got about a third of the way in, pretty horrifically dated sexism/homophobic stuff in it haha. Maybe I should just stop being so dang sensitive and try and push through the back half ;-)

Its not just the dated stuff, its because its shockingly and astoundingly boring for a movie with the premise that it has. it is my LEAST favorite of his entire filmography

Didn’t have this until last year and it was really a long time coming. Such a great score.
