Cleaning some records last night and had this on to keep me company

Great spins I see... I haven't spun any record in a while.
I have a pretty boring office job and working from home for two years was a blessing for me. All the time to play records... Since two months I have to work from at the office for 50% of the time and for some reason I find it hard to get used to it. Also I need to have my main record player repaired, but I cannot really use that as an excuse for not playing records, because I still have two other functioning tables I could use.
Maybe it also has to do with from taking a pause from buying records. I have some coming in over the next couple of weeks. And some handmades are dropping this week!
I want to keep STBC alive so I do want to do my share of posting. Also I miss Mateo...
And the world sucks. Or I don't understand it anymore.
Tomorrow or at least Thursday I will be spinning again!!!!

The world most definitely sucks, you may or may not understand it anymore but it still sucks :(
I try to keep the posts going but some days I just don't get to spin records. Working so much eats up a lot of time, most days I come home, make dinner, talk with the Mrs. watch a some TV or a movie and go to bed. Rinse and repeat. Lucky if I get to spin one side of a record while I make dinner.

Silva Screen killed it once again with this. Isham's trademark horn is always an incredible joy to hear blasting from the speakers.

A little jealous over here on this side of the water. I have a notification set up at Juno to be alerted when it comes in stock.

In the meantime I'll be spinning this to make you just a little jealous even though I know you have a copy on the way

Nice one Tim. The reissue is spread across two discs, yet only adds one short atmos track. Yeah I think I'm good too ;-)

Oh dear. I have a rather unfortunate update to this glowing review....

Having given it a good clean and played at volume today, sad to report that this pressing is problematic. There is hotness and distortion, especially evident on the opening and closing tracks (you know, the best ones?) and having compared to my CD I can hear that there is some inherent hotness/break up there in the music but this vinyl mastering/pressing has really pushed too far and emphasised the issue in a horrible way. Horn breaking up, low synths and weird frequencies bouncing around against each other and reverberating in an unpleasant way. It's a huge bummer. I ordered a second shelf copy this morning so I'm gonna see how that shapes up before I reach out to Silva Screen. I'm not overly optimistic though.

Fucking BUMMER! Only waited 35 years for a listenable pressing of this fucking score, haha...... jesus. Maybe, just give up and commit to enjoying the music digitally forevermore??
