One of my favourite movies and scores. The score was not released in its entirety at the time, only a 7“. Later there was a CD but I think this vinyl version has some more music on it if my memory serves me right.
Packaging is a bit flimsy but sound quality is great.

Yes Chris, 7" EP but also this RCA LP which I have from '82 that has five cues from Samourai - probably the same tracklist as the EP I'm guessing.

The Universal LP release is terrific. Not sure if it's complete, haven't compared to the CD tracklisting.

And you're absolutely spot on in your estimation of both the film and score.

Allright, I didn‘t know about the RCA LP. But good to know better late than never - as one can never have enough de Roubaix.

I went on a bit of a Morricone binge this afternoon, first time spins of Violent City and Rampage. Violent City was fantastic, really loved it and foresee that getting a lot of spins in the future. Rampage was a nice surprise, I had no idea what to expect and it was quite enjoyable. This was a promo copy that I don't think had ever been played, it's dead silent.

This cover cracks me up so much. Some day I'll find a copy for cheap as feel like I just need to own one.
And it is a fantastic soundtrack. Love playing that one loud.
