Just watched this over the weekend. It had been ages since I last watched it. this viewing was made especially nice because David had never seen it before. :)
I don't think I have seen Poltergeist since the mid nineties. Does it still hold up?

A bit dated, TV stations are pretty much 24 hrs and don't sign off anymore. Otherwise, it holds up IMO.

Holds up 100%! Even on a technical level, top of the line ILM practical, animatronic and optical effects that piss on the graves of cgi horror crap.

And back in the earliest days of PG-13, when that didn't mean a castrated horror film- things get pretty damn rowdy!

Adorable cast and terrific writing, this film will never age. A fun time is going through the 'goofs' on imdb-there's like hundreds! ;)

And of course the score is one of Goldsmith's very best *chefs kiss*

Dang, I really envy David that first viewing! Did he love it?

And you can now introduce him to the world's creepiest villain in Poltergeist II!

'God is innnnnn.... his holeeee temple.... earthly thoooouuughts be silent noooow.....'

He isn't really a fan of these types of movies. He doesn't like to be scared. That said, he stayed awake, had a few expletives, and talked to the movie. All this usually means he's enjoying it. :)

Some beautiful spins there @bez

This has been on the table a lot over the last few days. Question for those that have it already. Are you noticing any distortion at times? I thought I heard some weird distortion a few times while spinning the first disc. I need to sit down and actually focus on it. It could just be some dust on my needle or the record could have some stuff in the grooves and it may need to be cleaned.
