Hey!

I just thought my fellow soundtrack and film score enthusiasts would like to know that I started a new companion podcast to my book Scored to Death: Conversations with Some of Horror's Greatest Composers. Scored to Death: The Podcast will continue where the book left off, with new in-depth interviews with film music composer and eventually, audio documentaries and more.

The first episode features part 1 of a fascinating interview with composer Richard Band. Part 2 of the interview will be on the next episode and I have many other great composers and equally as fascinating interviews lined up for future episodes. If you're interested, please check out the podcast on:

iTunes:

SoundCloud:

Libsyn:

Stitcher:

And many other places you can find podcasts.

Thanks! I hope you enjoy it.

I've subscribed too. Do we get a hand-numbered 180g 'brain splatter' subscriber only variant with tip on gatefold sleeve with bonus flexi?

Joking aside, you have another podcast?

Hatter, the support means a lot to me. Thank you so much. So glad you liked the book. Right now the podcast is very similar, but I'm hoping to also branch out and do other film music-related things with it eventually too. I'm very excited to be continuing Scored to Death.

Maybe mine will be the first podcast pressed to vinyl.

I cohost a fun & nostalgic, yet informative, movie podcast called Saturday Night Movie Sleepovers. It is very different than what I'm doing with Scored to Death, but if you're interested, it is carried by most podcast services...including iTunes:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/sat ... 98015?mt=2

Thanks!

Subbed to the podcast. I really liked the book. I found Saturday Night Movie Sleepovers podcast a few months ago and have been going through those as well- really fun and informative if anyone out there hasn't checked it out yet.

Great stuff! Just finished part 2. Richard Band sounds like a very pleasant and comfortable guy to interview and probably just hang with.

New episode is up! I had a great time chatting with Cody Carpenter about his fantastic new album Interdependence. It has a very cool jazz fusion vibe. We also chatted at length about his scores for the Masters of Horror TV series, working with his dad [John Carpenter] on the Lost Themes albums and also touring with his dad.

I am subsribed and have all the episodes downloaded but I haven't had a chance to listen. Your line up looks quite impressive and I can't wait to dive in. My podcast time lately has been cut down quite a bit but I'll have to shift some stuff around to get to these sooner

Hey all,

If you're interested, Craig Safan sits in on the latest episode of Scored to Death: The Podcast to discuss his musical background, his artistic process, being mentored by Elmer Bernstein, the genius of Bernard Herrmann, the score for 1980's Fade to Black, his cue in the Michael Mann film Thief and much much more! And this is only part 1 of his interview!
