a local wine store here does an event every Wednesday called "Wine & Wax". Everyone brings in a couple albums and the owner tries to pair wines with the music. Anyways, what soundtracks would you suggest to introduce people to for the first time? I was thinking Blood for Dracula, The Red Queen Kills 7 Times, and maybe something more popular.

First off, that's a cool wine shop! Wish someplace around me would do that kinda thing. Hmmm, popular album wise... maybe Raiders?

There use to be an audio store here in Winston that did a monthly BYOV (Bring Your Own Vinyl) and I considered taking a couple of soundtracks but never did. Unfortunately they've closed. One of our local record shops has hinted that it may pick it up but so far hasn't. As for a more popular soundtrack @ static made an excellent suggestion. Any big hit from John Williams would work, Jaws, Jaws 2, E.T., Jurassic Park, plenty to choose from. If you want to stay in the horror genre you might think about Jerry Goldsmith's Poltergeist. You could also go synth with John Carpenter's Escape From New York. Those are just a few suggestions and ones that I also considered.

I didn't go to many of the BYOV sessions but the ones I did I always enjoyed.

Sideways :)

Or something jazzy/classy like Mancini (Pink Panther, Charade) or Miles Davis (Lift to the Scaffold) or perhaps a jaunty Elfman/Burton like Beetlejuice or Edward Scissorhands.

Maybe something like Inception Soundtrack by Hans Zimmer. I can picture people drinking wine over Dream is Collapsing .

Hannibal :)

Some Morricone? Maybe something classy like "Metti una sera a cena..." or later some smooth vibes like "La donna invisibile".

Taxi Driver or EFNY. Something noir and smooth or dark and juicy.

Tim, are you by chance referring to Winston-Salem?

Hahaha! Sweet Jimmy Mike! Please, God, contextualize this for those of us who chose to Summer elsewhere than the Southeastern US.

I suggest Silence of the Lambs. Goes well with a nice Chianti.

If that isn't the time to bust out a porn soundtrack and a sly wink at all the ladies then I've been doing it wrong all these years.

p.s. I also collect restraining orders

In the same sort of arena, Naked Lunch.
