I’ve spent the last few days in an Indiana Jones mood (and, if I’m to be honest, the last few decades) so I’ve been spending my commutes with the scores, there are some really great things in here beyond the main themes, nobody does that old school sound like Williams.

@Deaf - How is it? Been a few years since I indulged in a LLL BF/Xmas release. Probably since the BHC 1&2 and French Connection drop.

@Hatter - Nice work! I remember reading that something about that like Williams wasn't in love with his score so the original tapes and extra elements were not available for a long time and then someone, perhaps VS, showed him how requested a title it was and he finally acquiesced. Hopefully I didn't butcher that narrative too badly. Either way, cool pickup.

The Yurei
Haunted music by sound effect

Bit of an odd one this, a serious anomaly. Plays something like one of those Halloween spooky records, but may also be some form of Japanese bgm stock cd, or dare I say library type material.

Tracks one to seven are traditional instrumental spooky soundscapes, with added FX like screaming cats :)

Tracks 8 to 11 are all synth based and scored by the amazing groovey composer Kiyoshi Yamaya. Track 8 "the wolfman" is a bizarre mix of 70's Hammond and fuzz guitar grooves alongside 80's new age synths and drum machines.
Tracks 9 to 11 are very peculiar, not really music but synth FX of things like Dracula waking up flying around and drinking blood. ?? :D

@hatter
the Japanese traditional instrumental tracks are actually rather creepy, whereas the synth tracks towards the end are more... goofy? can rip it if you're interested.

I couldn’t actually find a wax or a CD copy of this, so I have gone for ITunes’ copy of Antonio Sanchez’ Get Shorty tv series score. I can’t seem to find any details on performers or production notes for. Get Shorty (Original Television Soundtrack) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07895ZX5K/ ... yCb7J65052

Absolutely fantastic, this guy has to be at the forefront of drumming soundtracks and the wider drumming music community. Birdman was likewise fantastic

And here we have a 'lost' 'Portishead' album...

Geoff Barrow of Beak/Portishead tweeted about this album - McKay - the other day, which reminded me I'd picked it up in the early noughties...

Apparently he produced it, not something I believe was widely known previously, as the producer was credited at the time as 'Fuzzface'.

Adrian Utley also of Portishead plays synth and guitar on it too.

Essentially it sounds like a jazzier/groovier Portishead with their signature synths, strings and vinyl scratches.

Recommended if you dig the early 'head & Massive Attack stuff.

An underrated gem.
