I am very happy with them. I am not used to headphones so I cannot comment on difference between them, but this one is very good if you want noise cancelling. Also very comfortable. I only use it in a noisy office.

Listening to this score on digital until I get hold of the LP version. This is a very strong album from start to finish by Thorsten Quaeschning, a member of later day Tangerine Dream. You guys should give this a listen, really worth it.

Starting in on this tonight — 11 CDs of Artemiev material (most of it film music).

My god. Rarely jealous these days (especially of cds, of which I have not-a-one...) but Artemiev is right up there for me and I envy you digging into this. Hoping some kind soul eventually puts this out there into the ether ;-)

Enjoy, comrade!

I'm in the middle of CD 4, and it's really excellent. What I didn't appreciate previously was the range he has. Most of what I heard was either excellent electronics (e.g., Tarkovsky), some cheesy electronics (e.g., soundtrack to The Odyssey), and some classical music. First, I'd think that anyone who digs '70s Italian film scores would like the music here: funk, disco, easy listening. And you have these pieces segueing into a Ligeti-esque choral piece or some moody synth work. There is the occasional piece that doesn't quite work for me, but, overall, it's killer.

Currently working from home and catching up on some things I've not had the budget to pick up recently. I'm digging this Daniel Davies album. Will hopefully pick it up on vinyl, or even CD, at some later point.

loaded up the changer this morning before heading to the "office". Not really sure why I didn't do this sooner.
5 Varese Sarabande disc that I think deserve to be on a nice slab of black wax

Haha, that took me a minute... yeah right. Well fwiw this wasn't the worst of those crap sequel scores by a long way - Howarth's for 5 and 6 are truly abysmal.

The 13th Warrior is my favorite “late” goldsmith score.

I remember watching kingdom of heaven when it first came out and wondering why, during the “big speech” scene, the score is suddenly the Valhalla theme from this instead of the score we’ve been hearing the whole film. It’s literally just “Valhalla Viking victory” dropped in there.
