Hell Yeah!

A definite contender for the vinyl treatment but I reckon securing rights from nintendo would be difficult.

Curious, has anyone actually ever seen a copy of Retro City Rampage on vinyl? I know they exist, but are harder to locate than Bigfoot.

Good luck licensing it, but Descent 2 would be a fucking awesome release for whichever label could pull it off. The driving industrial music was perfect for the game. I actually think Descent could be a huge modern gaming title now; it was a very ambitious game for 1996!

Anyway, give the whole thing a listen here... it's a monster!

For anyone interested, Square Enix have just announced that they're repressing the Final Fantasy VII Vinyl picture discs. It should be identical to the original press except for not being numbered.

https://store.eu.square-enix.com/emea_e ... -VINYL.php

It might be EU/Japan only as that was the case with the original press.

This might not be everyone's cup of tea or favorite game, but I LOVED Parappa the Rapper and just recently got the soundtrack. Sadly it was only pressed as a picture disc.

Street fighter 2!? That's it! I remember recording each track on to tape from the options screen! You could listen to each full song on infinite loop. Can't wait for this one!

I've been looking forward to The Last of Us for quite some time, but $75???

This is why I can't have nice things!

I hope one day Blizzard jumps on the vinyl bandwagon and releases the Diablo soundtracks on vinyl .... good god I would kill for that. Either just from the original Diablo or a compilation of the first two, or even all three, the new one has a terrific score.

By the way, for anyone looking to get that Mega Man 1-10 picture disc from Hot Topic that was delayed - Spacelab9 have confirmed that the new release date will be July 17.

Still no word on the non-picture disc version, though.

Hey guys,

I've been hard at work for the past week or so on doing a website that compiles info on Video Game Music on Vinyl. And I think I might have one of the most comprehensive online lists on these releases ready:

https://blipblopwax.wordpress.com/

It's still a work in progress but any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

@JurassicCarpenter: Blizzard did release the OST to StarCraft II on vinyl: http://www.discogs.com/Various-Revoluti ... se/2510056
But I agree - Diablo on vinyl would be amazing.

@rpbtz In a recent email from Moonshake records, he is apparently officially releasing the NES Ninja Gaiden Trilogy under his new label.

Additionally, there was a promotional flexi released in Japan for Final Fantasy II. It contains music from the game and some narrator talking about the game. Not exactly a full soundtrack, but still some cool music.

Wow. It's from the Japense video game magazine Beep!. They released quite a few flexi discs with video game tunes alongside their magazine. I've got a list of compilation flexis listed under "VGM Compilations" on my site.

As an FF fan I would be psyched if I came across a copy of this. It's probably impossible to find, though. I've added it to the site - thanks for letting me know about this :)

I've got a bunch of old Beep flexis, but I don't believe the Final Fantasy II one is from that magazine. It's from one called Family Computer Magazine. And as far as I'm aware, the only flexi given out from that magazine.

I just assumed it was from Beep seeing as that what the description on the YouTube video said, but you seem to be right. Other sources lists is as being from Family Computer Magazine.

Both of the recent Nintendo bootlegs (Castlevania and NES Greatest Hits) are in stock over at Forced Exposure. The price is very high at $44 USD each though, which seems odd for an unlicensed product. Why are they so expensive?

@deafmetal - probably because they've seen what people are willing to pay for them on Discogs and eBay.

@deafmetal - That's absolutely ridiculous. Who would pay that much for those?
