Good record cleaning machines in general and ultrasonic cleaning in particular really is a nice thing to have access to. It always improves the sound quality of records with issues, depending on how much surface noise/crackling etc. there is it can almost work miracles. I bought an ultrasonic machine two years ago and am very happy with it. To me this one of the best upgrades one can invest in as a record collector.

What cleaner did you pick up? I'd like to get something better than my simple set up. Currently have a ton of side work so it's something I actually could make the investment in pretty easily in the coming months

@Chris - wow, sweet machine!
I’ve looked into buying an ultrasonic cleaner before, because I pay $3 a record to have them cleaned at the record shop now. At some point it would save me money, for sure.
But it seems like the ones in my price range aren’t nearly as nice as the one they use there, so for the time being, I guess I feel good supporting the shop by making a monthly visit to get records cleaned there.

I fully get that. It‘s what I did for some years before we moved away to another city and then out to the countryside because of our small kids (unfortunately no record shop nearby, I really miss the shop where we used to live) and I then decided to invest in my own machine as I had got so used to „clean“ sounding records.

Yeah, I started looking into them when we were quarantined and I didn’t know if I’d ever get back to the record shop!

This is pretty great and it was cheap.

Been enjoying this with repeated spins today. nice little record. There's something to like even in the one or two overly light/circusy tracks like the jazzy pop chord progression of the banjo of "one reeler"

Lots of flute and Mr Rogers-esque jingly jazz (what that very high xylophone(vibraphone?) reminds me of), plus Flip Flop has a pretty mean drum break

Won't break the bank and well worth tracking down

@texas yeah I love that one.
It was one of my last handful of MP2000 purchases cause I didn’t expect it to be great, so it was a pleasant surprise.

The pressing is overall pretty quiet, though there are some occasionally jarring loud BRAAAAAPPPPP noises in the left speaker only. I assume it’s a pressing defect.
It doesn’t happen too often, and I know that first pressing sold out in a heartbeat, so I guess I just gotta live with it.

Terrific song selection though.

Looks also like Sonor put a few more copies back up for sale on their Bandcamp of both releases? Unless it’s the upcoming press.

Got the Riccardo Luciano album Eventi album, released 1978 on Cometa. Got to say this is a incredible album, I love the nature tracks on this. Its modern classical ☺️

the cover of Lorenzos copy will look so beautiful on one of the these narrow minded instagram accounts. it is not meant for listening though. i bet @havershaw will have the better listening experience with his reissue. still respect Lorenzo as a business man and one of the most successful auctioneers around...

"Record: visually signed by many paper scuffs, sounds with background noises and tics/pops in place; among VG and VG- condition, "

This has some of the very best beats and samples ever. But it's kind of boring isn't it, if we're really being honest. These are beats more than compositions.

I would not run away from a copy with surface marks if it sounds nice, but this copy really doesn't sound good at all.

I think you might be right though, cover looks mighty nice.

I'll hang onto my golden pavilion
