It is okay, not great not bad. I can rip it for you. My copy doesn't have the cover, I think the cover is a guys face from the film.

@million - do you know anything about this Patchwork?

https://www.discogs.com/JC-Deblais-Le-M ... ev=item-vc

it normally sells for over $100, and one just popped up today for a more decent price, but I can’t find any info about it or samples of it. The titles make it seem like it’s up my alley, but I admit, sometimes this stuff ends up just being super atmospheric and not melodic at all, which isn’t quite my cup of tea (I love the balance between the two on my other Patchwork releases though).

wait. I’m a total idiot.

There are plenty of videos of that, on the very page I linked to.

Dammit, I must be thinking of another one. Sorry, my brain is broken this evening.

that one is quite a good one in my opinion, totally in the STBC manner! could be the score to a creepy little flick. if you see a cheap one, you should grab it...

Brazil By Music caught my attention because it was reissued recently. (really funny what stuff is being reissued actually)
this record was a give away for passengers flying with Cruzeiro Airlines and only 500 were made in 1972. damn, airlines should follow up on this ritual.

a discogs comment about this record says: "...It reminds me of library music, in effect it is...", and i have ths similar feeling about this great Azymuth production. mellow instrumentals done in the brazillian style and - excuse my dirty comment - this could be a score for a exotic island porno flick as well. the gatefold cover is nice and super thick and shows the destinations that Cruzerio was flying to. super nice record and highly recommended to anyone who is into library stuff and good music in general. full album on youtube (see below).

I have avoided this thread like the plague since I became a forum member (I was scared of how much money it might make me spend), but over the last couple of months I’ve finally started following it, and damn it, there is so much amazing music here. It’s really incredible, and it’s kind of freaking me out.

I guess I’m just saying thanks for turning me on to all of this stuff.
(although my wallet is most certainly not thanking you at all)
made me chuckle with all your recent library grabs :)

the slope is slippery, I just bought one I really should not have. and actually it is probably mostly or all @milliondollars fault.

will let you know once i spot Traffico and Crossway but people ask for four digit sums nowadays. one famous seller told me he sold Droga for 2500€ at a fair to one of those psych dudes. just insane.
I have been listening to Thrilling a lot. You need to go back and listen to this one again!! Every time I happen to pull it out for a spin it goes up a spot in my RRC/Fly ranking list. I am always hearing new things and nuance in the instrumentation. One track has a kind of crescendoing "horror strings" part that was very prescient. And the kettle drums sound awesome!

I got a cheap mondo operario a while back, still no signs of droga, looking around, cross-way or traffico at prices I would even begin to consider. I'm not sure I like any of them enough to really chase after except I would indeed love to have Traffico one day. that one is my speed.

@texas yeah this place is treacherous!

hey do either of you know anything about this one?

https://www.discogs.com/Yanco-Nilovic-V ... se/7116218

I’m discovering I basically love everything Janko does.
But I can’t find much about this one.
I made the seller a low offer and they countered for lower than what they’re asking, but it seems like an awfully expensive blind buy.
The song titles alone make me think I’m gonna dig it, and so far I’ve never been disappointed in a Janko joint but I thought I’d see if you guys knew this one before I plunk down that kind of cash on a blind buy.

this thread is poison, haha!

regarding the Tele Music 10", i am quite sure, that these 10" came before the 12". some of the discogs entries have dates and these earlier than the first 12". as @Dollarhyde has mentioned, I always thought the same about the "recycling". that particular 10" seems to have three tunes that do not appear anywhere else if you look them up which could mean:

- either these appear only on this 10"
- or they were renamed for some reason (or credited to another composer)

since the record is gone now, i have the feeling that you will find out @havershaw! :) really curious to hear your feedback!

to be honest, i think i was wrong with my statement, mistaking Thrilling with one of those La Citta volumes on Fly. really not sure. these two are really terribly inconsistent and i think you will agree. of course both of them have some great moments but also some boring as well...Thrilling is a good one.

glad to hear you have Mondo Operario. i think Looking Arround is even a bit better but both of these two are nuts, such as Traffico. amazing record!7

speaking of Thrilling, does anyone from you know who the discogs user afyon_eater or MeatballEater is, whic is obviously the same person. are you a member of this forum maybe? it is not that i give a damn how somebody rates a release but this user has a upside down taste compared to mine...

after listening to Pop Impressions, i had to throw Supra Pop on the table and this one is even better. love the trippy psych magic of these Nilovic records. i remember seeing a youtube video with Nilovic saying Montparnasse 2000 called him saying he will get a contract for 20 albums with total musical freedom. this is something that many artists can only dream of and it is exactly what you can hear on these records: an overdose of creativity that you will not find on standard records...damn, i need to find the missing ones for my collection. this thread is poison!!

Interesting info regarding those 10"s, I think the rule is expect the unexpected in the field of libraries :D the 10"s don the older Tele-music logo don't they? That would be cool if those extra tracks are exclusive.

Yes! Supra Pop is amazing.

And yeah, I could not agree more - all of these Janko LPs are really amazing. I’m constantly blown away by the creative madness on all of these records. That’s why I started going bonkers trying to get everything!

I’m sure you know that Andy Loore is also a Janko pseudonym - I’m finding a lot of cool stuff under that name too.

As far as that 10” goes - I’m not sure what’s going on with it.
They made me a counter offer, but not through discogs. I hadn’t answered it yet, and this morning my previous offer was formally declined and it said they had removed it, so I emailed them to see what happened (because I guess I’m just gonna take their counter offer, haha).

Nothing like having the record suddenly disappear to help you make up your mind about whether or not you wanna spend $80 on a blind buy, hahaha.

EDIT:
Well, someone else bought it. So I guess that’s that.

Good cheap janko stuff. Even the schmaltzy cues are at least interesting, and there are four or so really nice tracks.

@texas I have the “Oh My Soul” version of this - I think it has one additional track (which is a really good one).

But it kills me that it doesn’t have the MP2000 livery on the cover...!

There are a couple other Janko releases that are...ok. But there’s always 3-4 great songs on them. (I think the children’s record falls into this category, and I think there’s one more.)

skipped MP2000 today morning for this hidden Rocchi/Bonfanti jewel. there are about 10 releases with the Ball Bearing Group tag but all seem to have different composers and groups behind them. also, many of them go into the cheesy disco direction which is really something that is not for me. only ones that i have kept are Experience 1 and 3 with Rocchi and Bonfanti behind them. super classy stuff....
