Just got the two newest Sonor reissues. They sound excellent. I am curious as to what their reasoning was behind the jackets though. Tommaso is super heavy stock with really glossy finish. While Mandrassi & Zollinger is the thinnest stock I've ever seen on a jacket. I'm afraid I might rip it.

maybe @Million can chime in, have not seen an original Ludo press. But maybe it is a replica. Some of the OG italian stuff has super thin sleeves. And the OG Indefinitive definitely has the heavy laminated jacket. I want to pick up a copy of that one to compare to the original which has poor mastering and needs a lot of EQ fiddling to sound good

Rappcats has both for reasonable pricing. Indefinitive is $35 and the other is $30. I assumption was they were trying to replicate originals as generally their stuff is pretty quality when it comes to jackets. And it's printed quite nicely just very thin, it's definitely going in a heavy poly sleeve just so I don't damage it.

Gonna have to check that one out, only dabbled in Rino de Fillipi's catalog. I dig the cover.

Nice thanks for the heads up. Didn't know this got a reissue. I've had an eye out for this one for a long time, but I've never seen a copy pop up over the years. Snagged one of these, Tempo di Naja and Disco Music.

Background music for backing up pictures. Had it on yesterday too, I really love these three quadriga records.

My google pixel 5a spontaneously shit the bed and bricked itself with a bad motherboard and I lost three months of pictures etc. so I learned my lesson and am backing everything else up. Bummer. I also learned data recovery is mega expensive these companies want $1000+!

Decent reissue. I doubt they had the original tape to work with but did a pretty good job. The original usignolo from this era sound good so I’m still on the hunt, it’s a tough one to nail down. Awesome library like rock music and the others. Cover is kinda blah with pretty muted color reproduction

Acceptable reissue sound a little muddy. Inconsistent library with a few really good tracks. Sometimes it sounds like Rino de Filippi did some of it. Glad to have the reissue I couldn’t justify spending what this one goes for

Saturday night cocktail — bottle of red wine — and Cocktail Bar in the background. Cold seared some strip steaks for dinner. Maybe some diablo4 or a movie after.

Been a while since I picked up a new library release. This Umiliani is quite good. Pressing from Holy Basil is mediocre though, needs to go through the cleaner as there's faint noise through out. Hopefully it's just dirty and not part of the pressing

This is not a library record, but it has all the whimsy and sound of one, so this thread seemed fitting. Especially with track remarks like “naive, delicate, sensitive”

Someone recently posted a clip of the track “Ilikai” on instagram and I snagged a cheap copy. Good obscure Canadian easy listening, worth picking up a copy.

I need to check out the last two but yeah I've been enjoying the series quite a bit too.

Has there ever been a collection of library tracks used in British public information films (I'm thinking the real depressing ones)?
