Does any of you have Bernard Herrmann's score to Cape Fear on vinyl? Would like to own this, but according to Discogs only brazilian pressing exists from 1992. May be impossible to track it down.

I have it and it took me more than a decade to track it down. Came across a copy just now by accident and it cost me $15. I think it is so rare because it was released at the end of the vinyl era in the early 90s in low quantities. Most major labels switched to CDs. There were certain countries like brazil that continued to do vinyl just a little longer than UK, USA or Japan. It is the same case with Goldsmith's Basic Instinct and Williams' Home Alone.

never seen a copy on ebay, discogs etc and can't tell how much it goes for. Maybe $15 is a regular price for it in brazil and the record is available all over the place. Couldn't tell as i have never been there...

Absolutely mindblowing record. Superbad score that gives you chills and essential for every De Niro fan.

Basic Instinct is in my wantlist too. That is still available, both german and korean pressing. Which pressing should I go for?

You should go for the german one definitely. Had both. Korean sounds weak.

you should check with other forum members for Cape Fear. I'm sure i am not the only one on this foeum holding a copy. I guess i was just too stupid to get one as it took me that long... :)

Best way would be to contact a brazilian dealer.

Wait, was there no vinyl for the original score? The Scorsese remake uses the original and rearranges it a bit, so it's the same themes, but which one are we talking about?
