I'm looking for some help identifying the best versions to look for of these 2 great scores. There are a lot of CDs around - which are your 'go to' versions (non-vinyl)?

Can anyone confirm whether some of the anniversary versions are essentially new recordings by Alan Howarth and not the originals - I've read different descriptions and confused about them, but it seems like they are.

Any recommendations?

Bump.

Can no-one shed any light on these Howarth CDs? I'd rather look around for used originals than new recordings.

I bought my digital III from iTunes just to have, I thought it was the original, not sure though.

Thanks @Hatter, I found the following on Alan Howarth's site re: Halloween II:

The original Halloween II soundtrack digitally re-performed by Alan Howarth.

The CD versions on his site seem to be the most easily available ones. HIII looks like it's just remastered vs re-performed, which I'd prefer.

Not sure how re-performed would compare, so I'd rather have an opinion if anyone had it before picking it up.

My "go to" HIII is the wonderful 25 track "Complete Score - Limited Edition" cd. It's glorious and probably one of my all time favourite soundtracks.
