Sorry if anyone's posted about this before, I tried to use the search feature but searching 'her' is a bit vague and brings up hundreds of results.

Has anyone seen the Spike Jonze film Her or listened to its soundtrack/score? (I assume people must as there was quite a bit of buzz around it during award season) I've just gotten round to giving the score a listen and simply put, it's amazing. Win Butler and Owen Pallett have done an amazing job at creating a powerfully emotional score. I've had it on repeat most of the week and I really recommend it to those who haven't given it a listen.

Where have you bought it from? I thought it was not released as a soundtrack? I know they streamed it on 8tracks radio but that was a while back.

I've been listening to It from YouTube. But yes, one of the reasons for this thread was to ask if anyone had heard of any concrete details regarding an official release! I need this on vinyl!!!

A "For Your Consideration" 2-CD promo showed up last fall for the 2013 Oscar season, but that seems to be about it for now. Disc 1 has 13 scores tracks & disc 2 is the Best Original Song:

In an interview with an Australian radio station, Arcade Fire's Win Butler said that the music on the Her movie soundtrack will see an official release in some form. Here's what Butler said about it:


We're just slow as a band. The music will get out there, it's just, like, a question of if we want to sell it to people or give to people or record other songs or whatever. There are many pieces on the soundtrack that are kind of based on actual songs that we've never really recorded. Yeah, there's a song called Milk and Honey and a song called Dimensions that are, like, lost great Arcade Fire songs. They are actually just things that, like, fit the world of the movie and then we kind of wrote them to the film.
