Zimmer/Myers day!

Sometimes the little things thrill you in this collecting game - I was all set to buy a copy of this a few days ago, only like £13 with postage, but thought “maybe I should check first if I already have it?”.

And I did!

Such a lovely soundtrack… kicks off with a Kate Bush original (Be Kind To My Mistakes) and has Eno (who also produced) and Jon Hassel tracks, plus some wonderful drifting island cues by Hans and Stanley.

How is this? I have it on my want list because I loved the movie as a teenager. Seems pretty easy to get - I just haven't pulled the trigger.

It’s great, I also really dig the film but then Roeg is right up there for me, not a single uninteresting film. The soundtrack is a ZTT release and is quite quirky in it’s presentation - as a ‘souvenir’ of the movie, and with some dialogue. I say get it man!

Halloween Ends has arrived and with it comes some terrible fucking surface noise. I really hope mine is the outlier and not common. Side B has tons of hissing through out the quiet parts, cracks and pops through out, some really really loud ones too. I'll be giving it a clean this weekend to see if that improves it but it was pressed at GZ so I'm pretty skeptical.

This an OG or the boot? Really kicking myself for not buying the boot when it was easier to get a copy.

@inks @Bez - There are some interesting comments on the 'cogs release page as to why Columbia Japan did not reissue the album as part of the ANIMEX1200 series as it would have been the perfect candidate for re-release compared to others. Also, a wild comment made about only 300 copies of the OG pressed back in the day?! I don't believe it...

Yeah 300 copies seems super low. Although there's no hard evidence on that so like the VS Evil Dead, we really don't know how many copies there are.

I've been told that Freddy's Dead only had 500 copies pressed which is why it's harder to come by but there's no concrete info on this only heresay.

This is a score I know by heart. Used to have the CD and listened to it a lot while exercising. :)

Was excited when the WW release was announced, but then never got it. Wanted an OG but wasn‘t willing to pay the discogs prices for a decent copy. Well, this one turned up on eBay a few weeks ago, and I was the only bidder, really happy that I got lucky with this one.

Haha. I only saw your comment just now.
I love that soundtrack. Played it a lot digitally when the movie first came out.
I don’t care what the vinyl elite thinks of me now ;-)

@ChrisMcQ - nice score

ImageV/A - Lo Squalo - L’Esorcista e altri film della paura [Cinevox CIA 5014]

I always enjoy this comp not only for the rare Bixio/Frizzi/Tempera gems but also to hear what I believe are (Simonetti’s?) synth covers of Jaws and The Exorcist/Tubular Bells. The Tubular Bells cover is wild with jazz saxophone riffing throughout. The rest of the album sound like straight transfers from the Cinevox tape archives. Check out the tracklist:

A1 J. Williams*– Jaws 2:30
A2 Goblin– Buio Omega 3:00
A3 Magnetic System– Godzilla 4:34
A4 Goblin– Connexion 3:20
A5 Ennio Morricone– Piume Di Cristallo 5:09
B1 Mike Oldfield– L'Esorcista 3:12
B2 Goblin– Zombi 4:19
B3 Goblin– Patrick 4:18
B4 Bixio / Frizzi / Tempera*– 7 Note 2:21
B5 Libra (6)– Shock 4:05
