Sequencing quibbles aside, Manhunter has been one of my most listened to purchases of 2018.

At the upper end of what I like to spend on an LP but figured I'd give myself a birthday gift. Also, it was through a US seller which doesn't happen very often for this title.

Did anyone else get a replacement for their initial pressing of this from Varese Sarabande? Mine just showed up around the first of November. Just now getting around to spinning it. I'm guessing the re-press was for the off-centered pressing. Side one is better. We'll see how the other sides are.

Yes I did. My first copy was off centered and distorted. I thought they had made a mistake and sent me a 2nd copy by error, that copy played fine when I spun it. If you received one too, I guess they replaced all their orders.

@nathan, I thought the same. I emailed them and got a reply that they were replacing all initial copies. I imagine they got quite a few emails asking about the 2nd copy. Mine sounds better also. Still slightly off-centered but not nearly as noticeable as the first.

Now why wouldn't they do that for Ghosts of Mars?

Why not, indeed. @Tim - I also received a replacement for the Star Trek 2LP — more centered and no warping, which improved the sound quality. I still have some surface noise which is noticeable on the quieter tracks, especially on the first disc.

Mandy on black vinyl is my favorite thing right now. Mood music.

I might just be unlucky, but my first copy on red vinyl has persistent surface noise. I am a headphone listener for the most part though, so it might not be noticeable on a stereo system. Hope others received clean copies.

I have it on black and mine doesn't have any surface noise that I noticed but my headphone listening isn't very often. @deaf what do you use for headphones? I've always been a fan of AKG K240s but alas mine are on their last legs. I've replaced the headphone jack twice due to the wires breaking away from their solder points and the ear pads are getting old and brittle (these are replaceable) but I might give a different brand a go. I have a set of Grado SR80's as well which I like but don't love enough to use to replace my AKGs
