@tim - Thank you for the breakdown on the NotLD release. I still do not have a copy of either album, and I'm starting to get twitchy.

@inks - that opening Sabba track is one of my favorite Nicolai tunes.

I like this record

This is the black cat reissue

Beautiful Edda vibes abound, and who can say no to those

On a side note, I put a bunch of records into storage today including most reissued soundtracks, and also my prized HPM 100B speakers. Which I got from an old vet for $40 including the custom wood bases he made and stained to match the finish. Anyway. I'm not bitter. Totally bitter. They are like 16"x16"x30" though, so I get it. They are behemoths. It was weird putting records in storage, and crappy- pretty sore today!

Hope you all are good. I am working from home, more time to listen to records but very busy not much time to post them!

@tex - stay strong, brother. I recently outgrew the one shelf my wife lets me have, so trouble's a brewin'. I keep using the "broaden the kids' horizons" excuse, but it's wearing thin. Especially when I bring home smutty, pron soundtracks. HA!

FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS!!!!!

I'm having a similar issue.

I wish I had that issue...

I told my wife that our next must have two separate rooms for me. First for music, stereo system and all my records will be housed in here (as well as random posters that are in a stack upstairs at the moment). Second for home theater, all blurays and surround sound and at that point hopefully a projector as I want a huge screen in my home. We'll see if that ever happens.

For a rather substantial fee, we can make that happen!

A 'Mancave' doesn't quite seem enough, I need a 'Manbarn'... one part for comics and drawing stuff, another with the cinema stuff, another with my records, synthesiser and bits, another for video games etc. Too many interests not enough space.

Haha, I hear ya @J.R. ideally I would have a video game room, instrument room (that shit needs humidity control for all my guitars), record room, theater room and regular relaxing TV watching room with giant sofa. I will never have all of that, I don't make enough money to buy a house big enough.

I’m happy to combine the listening room and the theater...if I have to. But I need an art studio and several themed libraries so the search is on!

@tex how much did you drop on that Geminus? Current sell price is absurd on Discogs. How's Beetlejuice sound to your ears?

Ink the only complete and clean copies to sell on Discogs both were $400. That is lot more than I paid for this one. It is good, the whole thing is uploaded to YouTube.

Beetlejuice is good. A home run might have been 2LP @ 45RPM. I don't know the run time per side. Based on the sound, I'd say longer than average. But they got it sounding good as a single LP. The black/white split is a little noisy, surprisingly the black side is the noisier one. I like the cover.

Brother, that is spooky! Just this afternoon in my local record store, provoked by some guitar playing in what was on the stereo, I asked my pal the owner if he knew of Beausoleil/The Freedom Orchestra. I told him how talented I think BB is, and what a shame it was for him to have fallen in with that nitwit Manson. Those prison recordings are extraordinary, and the Ajna Offensive box set is one of my very favourites. Shit dude, I may just have to spin it now! (right after I finish this rewatch of UNBREAKABLE)

I listened to a whole bunch of new stuff today, and by new I mean new to my collection:

Pagan - Black Wash
Echo and the Bunnymen mini album
a-ha - Scoundrel Days
zombi - Ground to air
Belinda Carlisle - Live Your Life Be Free

and a last minute Holy Grail album that was just delivered by the postman...

Scritti Politti - Cupid and Psyche 85.

One more album and me reclaimed 80s album collection is finished... problem is its New Order - Substance and it goes for a bomb!
