ScoJo wrote: Fri Aug 30, 2019 1:54 pm Interesting.... not to dispute brother Static's love of this in any way, but had a listen myself and it's a hard pass from me. Sounds like Rugrats! (I know, I know...that's Mothersbaugh and has plenty of 'feels' for lots of 90s kids ;) But that's just the problem for me with this (and some other Terrorvision/Lunaris releases), in that I have zero affection for the movies, and tbh without that factor a lot of this digital-80s 'Synclavier-style' horror music just sounds fugly to my ears! (ugh, those digi pan pipes!)

We love what we love, and for a multitude of reasons. TROST isn't hitting any targets for me unfortunately ;) But I am as ever immensely grateful for somebody here sharing their enjoyment of something and encouraging others to check it out.

(I had the very same thing recently with Splatter University - not a film I saw back in the day, and catching up with it recently to investigate the music, I found both the film and score to be hot garbage ha!)
Now Scott could we potentially have another Turkey Shoot situation here. If my memory is correct, you first thought that score was a leaking, sulfuric mess. As time went on, you eventually "WOKE" to it's vibe.
With respect to the right honourable sir, I have no recollection of this whatsoever and stand true to my basic principles.

Never heard of The Apple, until now. Definitely need to watch. Looks awesome thanks @scojo
Now spinning

A bit more info on this one. So I previously thought this was an 'image' album (music based on the movie).
But no, I'm not 100% but pretty damn sure this is an OST. I think there was a Japanese release of the movie in the mid/late 70's with a full Japanese dub. Not only redubbing the actors but also the whole score. Maybe to contemporise the movie for a 70's release?
Funky, soulful, disco jams abound :) all with a sci fi lean!

@Dollar, excellent spins, Matt. I am interested that 70’s re-score you have found.

Thank you to everyone who recommended this one. It’s thrilling to keep discovering new Cipriani and Goblin material. The pressing sounds great to me. Four Flies black vinyl has treated me well so far.

I recently got a new stylus and will have a lot of free time to rip some stuff in about a week, this is top of the list at the mo.
Still need to get that un ombre Nell ombre (I do have the cam library with death watch though ) may pick it up along with their Super ground LP.

You guys have been killing it...

I do love most TV releases a lot. After reading how bad @ScoJo found the movie I was not sure what the score would be like. But for me it is an excellent listen.

This might be my most spun TV release:

I've had 'Un Ombre...' on the platter loads this week, so bloody good!

Must check out Super Ground, is a mystery to me.

Previouly, I really wanted this. But based on your above update, that's all changed.

Now I'm prepared to gift my left knacker for it.

Excellent highly recommend easy tempo comp. Umiliani, morricone, Carlo pes, piccioni, cipriani etc. Tasteful choices including some under the radar gems like Allora Il Treno by Nicolai. Guess tougher to find these days I remember getting this from dusty groove for like ten dollars but that was years ago
